anyone with common sense know the only people to blame is the politics
The Ukrainians should lay down their arms then.

I know the Russians will have more than some fanatics in their ranks but they’ll also be these.

Heard earlier that the Ukrainian government has set up a hotline to Russian parents and loved ones so they can find out if they’re son, husband, brother etc has been killed or captured allowing captured soldiers to talk to their families by phone also. A human touch and great tool for getting the truth to families in Russia and then the wider public seeing as Russian state TV has gone full comical Ali and claiming that there is no casualties on the Russian side and it’s all going to plan.

Whats scary but also sad, Is it appears quite a few young Russian service men generally thought they are on some sort of military exercises rather than being thrown in to a war

I've got to say what a leader Zelensky is. Visible, strong, brave, honourable and human. And we have Boris .

I've got a bit of a man crush on him.

If the roles were reversed Boris would be sending someone out into Kiev post-curfew with a few briefcases

Fair play to Ukrainians, they have bollocks.

Just random people arming up.
Saw footage of them earlier answering the call to make Molotov cocktails. Mostly females grating polystyrene to stuff into bottles before filling with petrol. They were Russian speaking too so Putin really has failed to understand the mentality of the Ukrainians.

He needed a quick knockout, he hasn't got it. Will have to throw more in who increasingly don't want to be there

Think it's just to legally separate himself from being the owner so it doesn't get involved in any personal sanctions of his

Chap from the BBC is saying he's moved the day to day running but in reality still has ownership. He's betting on the government not wanting the PR of seizing a football club if they take his assets in the hope that when this is all over he can quietly move back in. Time will tell if people will go for that but given the way Chelsea fans have been defending his association with Putin the last few days I suspect there won't be many complaints from them.

Its difficult to know what's true and what isn't. As much as we go on about the laughable 'zero casualties' Russian propaganda it would be naive to think there's not propaganda on the Ukraine side, even if not through official sources then from people thinking they are helping by sharing things on social media - there was footage widely shared yesterday of Russian jets being brought down which turned out to be from a computer game - but if what we are hearing is anywhere near true then things are going a lot better than expected from a Ukrainian point of view.

Of course the problem is Putin doesn't exactly strike you as the type to admit a mistake and give up. Probably the best case scenario is it brings Russia back to the table for some behind the scenes negotiations which result in some concession Putin can declare a win back home. But would that be enough for Putin?

Hard to see where the compromise lies.
Putin won't leave current Govt in power. Promise of new elections won't solve much as pro-moscow candidates will get slaughtered. NATO and EU can't agree to not let Ukraine join if a freely elected Govt wants to join.

Can Ukraine agree to demilitarize with what is happening to them ATM? Is a Russian promise not to reinvade worth anything?
Again can NATO agree to withdrawing ( what small forces there were ) from the Baltic States, Poland and other former Soviet states?

International recognition of the 2 breakaway republics would set a dangerous precedent with the way they were formed. Just encourage other military powers to repeat it in areas where they have ethnic populations.

Don't see Putin as the type to accept anything less than what he has been telling his people he wants.

Suppose there is always an answer but hard to see one atm

Tass posted that 3500 Russians had been killed or captured. Then the post was quickly removed.

Seems it's stepping up tonight. News here reports residents in Kiev just been warned of serious air raids tonight. Turn off all lights and seek shelter underground. Also that thermobaric launchers have been spotted near Kiev.
On a lighter note seems like Anonymous causing havoc on Russian state networks Inc. Kremlin and defense ministry.also some TV stations been hacked and Ukrainian national being played live.

Thermobaric bombs are one step away from nuclear.
