Basically we should have just kept the original EU laws instead of fucking around with it in 2018 giving the HOL’s the option to “take back control”. Liz Truss also specifically blamed 2 individuals in the HOL’s for amendments, not sure they have the power on their own. Liz Truss even admitted that the EU law was less onerous.

I suspect he’s just a mental old man losing the plot TBH. This all sounds a lot like people excusing Johnson or Cummings because they had an aura around them that actually was completely unjustified.

No way have the Russians got some mad new tech and we don’t know about it. Neither are they likely to be playing possum before they hit the button and reanimate Lenin. Occam’s Razor suggests they are what they look like: a creaking superpower rotten with corruption with a flimsy economy and a man in charge who is losing his faculties.

I think what's clear (and the same will apply to other military powers) is that nobody can afford to invest the amount of money you need to maintain the sort of firepower people like to imagine you've got, it's just impractical, and, in any case, there will be money being creamed off all over the place.

Abhorrent as chemical etc weapons are they any worse than civilian bombing deaths? The manner of death is different but the end result is the same. Are chemical weapons any less indiscriminate than bombing civilian areas?
Not sure I've put this properly (intention certainly not to be callous) but as far as NATO goes atm does it matter how they die? There's evidence of thermobaric weapons being used which result in a nasty death - but that hasn't changed NATO's stance. But again Syria's use of chemical weapons did produce a response - would they be consistent or "factor" in who the opponent is this time?

We've had a story in the press here (last week??) that's there's been a crackdown in Russia as a lot of the money supposed to be spent on weapons,logistics etc has disappeared. The military resources have not matched what they were supposed to be on paper.
Officials bank accounts & assets being checked to see if they can be legitimately explained.

The issue with chemical weapons is it's often a slow, painful death long after the event itself. Sure, they exist with 'normal' weapons too, but not to the same extent.

Yes very true - apart from the US of course.

Our army is tiny these days.

Should football really be expected to be the countrys moral arbiter though?

Every government since the 50s has been thick as thieves with the Saudis, why should football be expected to provide moral guidance?

If politicians aren't bothered why should the football authorities be?

Thats surely Russian propaganda. Just had a look on twitter and it hasn't been reported by any credible source that I can see, and the diagram and narrative seems to have come from a Russian source.

A human shield seems pretty pointless given Putin and his army have been indiscriminate in the targeting of bombing and the killing they have done so far. Mowing down unarmed women and children fleeing.

Got friends in UK who have raised over 50k plus vans loads of goods. Supposed to have left in a convoy last weekend but have had to repack everything into boxes by country of origin to get through customs. Going to be double the work when they get to Poland sorting it back into what supplies actualy need grouping together etc.

I do also owe everyone an apology - I mistakenly said that the EU were feeding Mr Purtin $2 million a week to pay for energy to help fuel his war - this was a disgraceful misrepresentation - it is $1 million A DAY
