Whose to blame for that?
The law of sod, We have progressed too quickly. Fans now think we should have a squad pushing for automatic promotion when realistically our aim is only going to be survival.

Exactly.

The squad has improved year on year. You're bound to get left with some deadwood.

Why do we offer deadwood extended contracts and high risk signings 3 year ones?

Who would you describe as dead wood

What deadwood has been offered new contracts? Kelly yes. Godden is a key player. Allen although I do not think he's good enough as a starter has been a regular player.

High risk signings are exactly that. High risk. You take a chance they're going to come good. If, say, Kastaneer turned out to be a great signing and left on a free after 12 months I've no doubt you'd be moaning about the fact he only got a one year deal.

You can't win on contract lengths. Someone is always going to moan they're too long while someone else moans they're too short.

Current deadwood would be the likes of Kelly and Shipley.

Well four of those aren’t on the books, two are in or around the team even if they shouldn’t be, another is a kid and another is a special case long term injury on a short term contract.

Really we’re talking about Hilßner and Dacosta, maybe Walker.

We did at the beginning of the season though did we not?

We're not at all though are we as we also seem to offer contract extensions to existing players that aren't particularly deserving of it. E.g. Kelly and Jones. We also prematurely did the same with Mason the season before last. The fact we also signed Bright on a 2-year contract, let alone signed him at all, was also sheer lunacy.

Not really sure how you're disputing the fact that there's clearly a flaw with our recruitment/retention strategy.

Our bench the other night contained Reid, Howley and Dinanga. Thats not a recipe for progress.
People can cite injuries but we've not got that many. But even a couple really hurt us.
Dinanga won’t be here long watched him plenty he’s not at our U23 level

There is no quid pro quo with SISU. The message to the fans is

"Buy season tickets or the club will not be successful. In return we'll sell the club's best players in order to keep the club operating and enabling extraction of interest to be paid to the owners. The owners of the club have no interest in the club's success and will not make any contribution to it."
Spot on

Kelly, Jones and the season before last and somewhat prematurely, Mason.

What so your logic is high-risk signings, who no one else wants, should be put on 3 year contracts on the off chance they might come off? Ridiculous.

Do you understand what the word risk means?

It's fucking amazing that we are the only club that has to trade assets in order to progress and improve........ So many clubs making millions and zillions in profit when they report the financials each year......... Another thing i find fascinating about other teams is that they have a squad of 24 players that are all fucking spectacular and have turned out to be perfect signings.

So many psychopaths on here expecting far too much.

Oh sorry what’s going to happen? Am I going to be sent to see big Dave and Old Fiver for a bit of reprogramming?

How did I get brought on to this?

You are entitled to your opinion - even wrong ones
My beef with you is when make statements as if they are fact when they are simply outlandish throw aways to generate a response
And your financial accounting knowledge would seem to need some polishing
