I just prefer Dabo
giphy.gif
He's better for the general shape of the team and is a bit more dynamic than Kane. Kane loves a cross but that's about it. Not a great deal of difference defensively but Dabo presses a bit higher it seems.

Hes like so many of our players, just missing one thing from greatness. Dabos crossing is O’Hares finishing is Goddens pace, etc etc etc.

Oddly dabo put a great ball in today we really should have hit the target from . I agree with your general point though

No bad performances today. Outstanding. One of the best city performances ive ever seen. Special mentions to Allen, Hamer, Gyok and Maatson

I thought he wa superb today and my MoTM in a crowded field.

I think he just works hard , does a job and can hold his head up high ..

Would be an amazing signing for a top league 1 team , but fuck that he's ours and he keeps proving he might belong here at this level

I’ve watched football for almost 60 years and seen the best, Pele, Beckenbaur, Gert Mullar, Johann Cruyff, George Best, Bobby Charlton, Maradonna, but these two Messi and Ronaldo as a pair playing the same time are the best of the lot and to put them ahead of Bobby Charlton is saying something.
You forgot Max

I prefer Dabo but I am comparing him to Kane's recent performances, which haven't been great. He had that purple patch where he was putting decent crosses in for fun, but that hasn't been the case of late. I think Dabo has more variation to his game.

The replay is not contingent on having bought the match you know

Ive got a sub so I’ll get it anyway. The treat will be getting two hours and watching a game I know we win. Gutted I missed it. But also now in that superstitious zone where if I go Wednesday and we don’t win it’s all my fault.

Moore: 6.5 - Didn't think he was at his best yesterday.
Dabo: 7 - Thought he was OK, maybe a little chaotic at times with his positioning and when on the ball. Made a couple of surging runs though and managed to put a few balls into the box.
Rose: 8 - Actually thought he was much better yesterday. Stopped their ST (Sharp?) from going through 1 on 1 and made up for a couple of McFadzean's shaky moments. Some good balls over the top which the United back line struggled at dealing with, as shown with his assist.
McFadzean: 6 - Another who wasn't at his best. Could've quite easily cost us on another day. Perhaps was carrying the injury that he eventually went off with.
JCS: 8 - Solid throughout. Like Rose, a few good balls over the top as well.
Maatsen: 7.5 - Excellent piece of skill to put O'Hare through. Didn't get up the pitch as much as I would've liked and he struggled in aerial duels, in all fairness due to his height. Solid enough performance though.
Allen: 8 - Thought he was excellent to be honest. Swept up everything in the midfield which was often the scrappiest area of the pitch and his passing was pretty good on the whole.
Hamer: 7 - Personally think a lot of his ratings flatter him. Passing was suspect throughout the game and he should've squared it for Godden for his chance. Made a couple of surging runs though.
O'Hare: 8 - After a poor first half he was immense in the second. Great finish for his second and unselfish for his assist.
Godden: 7 - Thought he linked up quite well with Gyokeres. Few decent flick ons that didn't come off but were promising. Should've done far better for his chance on goal but he's clearly rusty still. Good positioning for his actual goal though.
Gyokeres: 9 - My MOTM. Strong when backing into defenders, ran channels well, was constantly looking to take players on. Really dominant performance.

Subs: All 6

How many dummies did he do to put Vik through? At least 3. He won countless flicked on headers to put vik clear too. Hes far from a passenger even when he’s not scoring.
just not a fan outside of his goalscoring, which obviously is his main attribute. He's extremely slow too.

He’s also not great defensively for defending set plays.

As per my rambling above, Sheaf has slightly more in that department. O’Hare pushed slightly up to make the dummy runs for Gyok etc., Sheaf CDM, Hamer / Allen / WBs on the charge.

I’d like to see how that went.

I know but who ? Bidwell out for six weeks and Shipley back on the sidelines, oh I forgot Waghorn I suppose MR could bring on for the last 10 minutes or so for a good booing.
Bringing Waghorn on for the last few minutes when we are creating chance after chance was an interesting choice.

I could see the benefit of Waghorn getting a goal for his morale but also the logic of letting a quicker Tavares rip. Tavares would have toasted that SU defence for pace and movement, particularly when they were tired and their heads had dropped.

He would have definitely, 4-1 up over 20 minutes to go and SUs back legs gone I reckon Tavares would have had a birthday.

Waghorn needs minutes and confidence, it was clearly the right call to bring him on during a 4-1 laugher. Also he nearly scored, so why stress about it.
Unfortunately his card has been marked by the boo boys, whatever he does won’t be good enough. Clearly the management rate him over Tavares.

Honestly I think one of the biggest problems fans have with him is that he’s an obstacle to Tavares getting minutes. Which I totally understand to a degree, but if Tavares had come on and played like Waghorn has the last few games, the hype would be at Mbappe levels - he’s done pretty well recently.

I’d have a bet that Tavares would have had better likelihood to score.

I do hope that Goal diff doesn’t come into it at end of season and I’d wager that there is a difference in appearance fees and number of games played bonus between the Waghorn and Tavares.

That said, I would no way disagree with 6’8” Dennis Lawrence. Ever.
