Away priority from next season (8 Viewers)

The issue is there’s 11,000 season ticket holders. When there’s only 5000 tickets available, how do you select the 5000? Saying ST holders should get priority doesn’t solve that conundrum….
Every week events go on sale that have more demand than there is tickets available. First come, first served works for them. Sure some people are disappointed but at least there aren't never ending arguments about a priority system and who 'deserves' the tickets.

Think this could be a case of be careful what you wish for as there's an emerging trend within ticketing for priority to be given to those who will pay for it and it tends to not be cheap. An ever increasing number of arena / stadium acts offer priority access to tickets for people who will pay an additional fee which tends to be in the range of £50 - 100.

Why couldn’t you have an away membership for season ticket holders for say £50 a season and they get priority for 24 hours for away tickets above everyone else?

A season ticket holder who attends one away game in 5 years should have far more priority than a non season ticket holder whose attended every away game in 5 years
Totally agree with this.

What I don't understand is why they allow season ticket holders to get more than one ticket.

You absolutely could do that hence me putting it in my post but I'm not convinced that is what people calling for a priority scheme are after. I suspect most people asking for the current system to be changed are looking for something that will benefit their circumstances. In particular there seems to be a section of supporters, albeit small, that for some reason only go to away games who seem to think they should have priority over season ticket holders.

I can imagine the response on here and social media if the club announced an away membership, whether open to season ticket holders or everyone, and were planning to charge £50, or looking at other priority access schemes more than likely more than that, and I don't think it would be a positive one.

Football clubs are different from normal events because we don’t have a transient audience. A band plays Birmingham one night and Newcastle the next and it’s an entirely different set of people turning up. A football club has the same people and relies on that set of people to keep finding the organisation.

Events may give priority to a special group but a football club can’t piss off those people it relies on for funding and this is what the special priority for supporters clubs is doing.

STs should give you 10 points towards the away scheme and then each away game you attend 2 points. STHs that go away will then always be given priority over random fans that go away.

There should only be a priority scheme open to season ticket holders. If you want first dibs in away tickets then make sure you spend money with the club too. There also has to be a fair system for fans to accrue points. If the same people go to all away games they will get most points meaning nobody else will ever get the opportunity. That would also mean an end to supporters clubs being given guaranteed tickets as they both dont have to queue for them and would get points too easily.

It’s amazing how convoluted people are willing to get in order to solve an unsolveable problem. When there are 5000 tickets going on sale at once to 11,000 season ticket holders, there is no magic formula that’s going to keep everyone happy, or stop someone from complaining it’s unfair.

(My Southampton tickets arrived yesterday)
Most season ticket holders go to very few away games. Correct me if I'm wrong?
Season ticket holders getting 2 away tickets are possibly taking a non ST holder along.
If ST holders got only one ticket there would be only a handful of matches when a ST holder couldn't get one IMO.
By all means correct my assumptions with facts if you have clear information.

I thought the England caps awarded more caps to the home games?

ST holders should get priority, financial commitment to the club should be rewarded more than those that just go to away games.

I agree with what an earlier poster said
1) ST Holders with Away Membership
2) ST Holders
3) Away Members only
4) General sale.

should be 1 per ST holder. Although with the Southampton game - they should have prioritised ST holders that went to the derby game first

Originally when Englandfans replaced the old EMC it was one cap for home games and 2 for away. Then when the new Wembley novelty wore off they switched it to 2 for home games and 1 for away to encourage wembley ticket sales, after a backlash they compromised with 2 for both. It’s not perfect but they’ll try and do whatever's fairest but also benefits the business and rewards loyalty.

Season ticket holders should rightly have first priority for away tickets, but it should only be one ticket per season ticket holder.

We stump our money into the club up front guaranteeing income.

I really don't see what is wrong with the current rules. Most STHs won't go to many away games anyway.

Edit:

Just read back some of the ideas on loyalty scheme and points. If it was to come in home games should have more points than away games, that way you are incentivising people to attend home game's and putting money into the club.

So ive just noticed this on the site under one of the membership packages;

There is no mention of away priority on this years normal season tickets, and as posted at the start of this forum Boddy had confirmed aways from this season would count toward priority next.

So I assumed it would be solely done on aways but this would suggest otherwise.

Bit shitty from the club keeping it off the normal season ticket renewal information (this is where someone will point out it is there and i've just missed it).

The away loyalty means you can have first priority ... but only after the other priorities have been satisfied first :)

Not sure what the Platinum Dining get, but L&W have been cut for next season to 50 maximum in the first stage, B&N 90 ,Kenilworth 30, Southam 20 and London 10, so next season only 200 will be gone before you can get yours from August onwards which should help keep the noise down (y)

This doesn't sound right. The membership thing is essentially a season ticket just in a box with dinner and shite, so you would get priority like they do this season with that, but this is also talking about a loyalty scheme. If you already have priority with your season ticket why mention a lower tier priority.

I'm assuming its going to be a mix of the two, Season ticket (including exec and boxes) + certain amount of away stubs get first etc etc (after the supporters clubs as you mention)

I have no idea sorry, although I would assume as you've said. I expected the bite on the supporters clubs bit. I've not heard anything there either, just on the wind up sorry.

This is total bollocks. I manage kids on a Saturday morning all over the place for Sky Blues in the Community. I can only go to away games if they are local, evening or no footie. I sometimes miss kick off at home games FFS

Part timer - minus 5 loyalty scheme points
