We should find a way to keep them
Whatever way it is you would moan anyway.

The only possible answer is new owners willing to give some of their own money without wanting it back
Sometimes you need a bit of realism
Don’t get me wrong I’d love it to be possible
Lol I wonder if they’ve thought of that but yes of course. I think better days was suggesting even with moving out the non first teamerswell it seems according to the other insider we are shelling out £2 million on 4 squad players
waghorn
Kelly
Walker
a n other (who no idea but clearly still under contract)
hillsner is £400k a year
Clearly try and do deals to move these on first

If we kept them? Hardly.
I did ask yesterday as you moan I take this off topic what value would you think o hare is worth?
Hamer and Ohare?? MaybeI can’t believe they are on over £20 grand a week each
Hamer and Ohare?? Maybe
Ok work with me here. The club seem to be doing all they can. Is that good? Then surely this is the problem. Oddly championship players want championship wages - I’d be surprised if it was much higher than £1 million a year wages each player - but this is what I have said in a nutshell. The club can’t pay players who become championship quality material
Tbh what option did we have???? Are you saying that if we don't get promoted we are going to have to sell both of them?? If this is true and the 'we have to sell' message is out there, then unless there is a bidding war, clubs will try and shaft us knowing we have to sell. I understand that you are 'in the know @better days , but is this a 'fact' , or something you suspect? Not knocking you, but to lose both would be gutting for fans (albeit, heroes always come and go, Doyle, McNulty, Dion, Mortimer, Hutch etc). Will need a really positive summer transfer market to appease the fanbase. MR has buckets of goodwill, but the owners will come into sharp focus if the above transpires, and the summer dealings are meh. Let's hope and pray we win the next 4 games (and win the play offs!)
I see the justifying selling Ohare and Hamer has already begunTell us how?

Defo he’s started scoring at the worst time for us in regards to keeping him but will defo bring interest in and higher feeCoventry City 'reject' O'Hare approach from Norwich boss Dean Smith
Latest Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive brings what has been reported in the national press about interest from Premier League side Norwich City in Callum O'Harewww.coventrytelegraph.net
Regardless wether this is true or not , I think there's going to be interest this summer surely ?
What price would you take if we had to sell ?
But you said that we can't afford their contract? Surely that means you are saying we have to sell both in the summer?Tbh what option did we have?
Both are in demand and if we didn't get them to sign new contracts we could lose them for nothing if they ran them down
I believe they are on the best contracts at the club but they deserve it, along with Vik but I don't know his deal
It's sensible business and should mean we don't get our pants taken down if and when wealthier clubs come in
The biggest concern is if one or both got a long term injury or downed tools like Ozil or some of the guys at Manure
But I think both are ambitious and want to play at the highest possible level so downing tools is unlikely
Well we did receive less than a million in the first year
Read better days commentsI see the justifying selling Ohare and Hamer has already begun

Both are in demand eh...imagine that.
Its like we don't have to 'hawk them about' like some would have you think.
And the even bigger fish feeding off the big fish. Its the way football is these days. No surprises...Good players get signed by good teams.Tosh!
Of course we can afford their contracts FFS.
The truth which is spouted by the club and the management at every given opportunity is that we develop players and sell them on for a profit to keep the club self sustainable - that is our business model.
None of this should come as a surprise to anyone surely?
We can only buck this trend if we get promoted to the Premier League and even then you have the bigger fish feeding from the pond below them - players come and go and thats just the way it is - who had even heard of any of these 3 players before we signed them??
Hats off to the management for unearthing and developing this fantastic talent for us all to enjoy while they are with us!
Im looking forward to the next gems they bring to the club - onwards and upwards!
A bit less than that but still significantI can’t believe they are on over £20 grand a week each
Who is the easiest to replace out of O’Hare, Hamer and Gyo in peoples opinion?
Agree, provided we get someone who can take corners. He is also, ironically, the one who imo would look most comfortable of the three, in the PL.Hamer.
Out of Vik, CoH and Hamer, it’s the latter that I’d prefer to lose - the other 2 are integral and would be harder for us to replace.
Would be hugely disappointing to lose all 3Im sure if all 3 are sold some people will find a reason to say “it’s football”

None of them are easy to replace - I wouldnt stress about it as theyre all Coventry players and currently loving life pulling up trees for fun here with us.Hamer.
