With a significant market such as this being heavily closed off, experts within the industry believe that we're going to see more players coming from South America. But like I said, I don't think that's applicable for the majority of the Championship as most won't have the scouting network in place to tap into those markets for the obvious reasons - cost.

So the first port of call is going to be looking closer to home for the aforementioned reasons.

Brexit did affect the transfer market. Doesn’t he points system revolve on factors such as international caps, league standing, purchase price, and position in the league of the selling club.

it’s not technically closed off, we could say pay 16m for a Dutch international from Ajax, but realistically it’s not feasible for 90% of clubs in England.

im sure Boddy said we couldn’t purchase Hamer in the current climate

A technically more difficult example as I am sure Hamer has a Brazilian passport. Maybe ask @KenilworthSkyBlue to get his map of Europe out.

Neither Pukki or Buendia would have qualified under the new system, that is a fact.

On Norwich it says:

" Norwich are one of the clubs with the most to change in terms of their scouting and recruitment strategy following Brexit. The article isn't very accurate, which is partly why our friend from Kenilworth has ended up going down such a blind alley in the first place.

Not all, but most of top European leagues would be applicable and fall in line with the banding set out. I was more referring to the lower divisions.

Like I said if it's rumoured that we're bringing in a European player he will certainly come from leagues such as the Bundesliga or Eredivisie as if he's made enough appearances in such divisions then I think it's pretty much an automatic pass.

I think that’s the idea, stops teams taking punts on foreign players in order to force them to use young English players, whilst simultaneously still bringing in talented imports.

ultimately it still cuts off an avenue, For example the next Mahrez is not likely - he is another player I’m sure they said wouldn’t have been found.

Perhaps if they stopped letting the big teams hoard the good young English players then maybe we'd get more young English players playing through the leagues.

Think they’re trying that aswell, you’re only allowed 8 players out on loan now. The idea is if can’t be loaned out it would make players think twice about joining these clubs

Surely we went for Bright because he was all we could afford? I doubt he was asking for more wages than Twine, we signed him from East Bengal ffs.

I think he looked ok in the prem when Cardiff were there, and fans expected him to ‘kick on’ in the championship. Apart from a few games when McCarthy took over, hasn’t done anything or looked good at all.
The Cardiff fans, in my vicinity at least, can’t wait for him to be gone.
Quite the fall indeed.

I'm not sure how solid our interest was but I heard that Twine turned down more than one Championship club to sign for MK Dons.

We were definitely in for Twine as were many at this level but none guaranteed him football which is the reason he went to MK.
