I've said Corbyn had his chance and failed and is now part of the past.
I said I was prepared to give Starmer a chance, I said I really liked the ten pledges.
But since then he has done very little to enthuse or inspire me.
And as far as Im concerned he has not made any effort to Unite the party despite saying he would.
When push comes to shove I may well vote for him because he's not whoever the incumbent is at the time of the next GE but that's hardly a ringing endorsement.

I may be wrong but every vote should be earned - that include ones from the lefties.

Well the signs are pretty good at the moment TBH. It may not, but like those denouncing Corbyn before he’d even started: let’s wait and find out.

As for your second one: your vote has been earned on the big issues I would hope. I don’t know many lefties who don’t have public service funding and fairer taxes high up on their agenda. What you’re not getting is every single hobby horse issue checked off. Neither am I. I doubt anyone is, that’s politics.

I didn’t agree with all of Corbyn when I voted for him either. His foreign policies were bizarre at times, he’s anti science and some of his domestic policy ideas were nuts or stuck in 1973. But he was light years ahead on the important stuff like economics and public services compared to May or Johnson.

All of what you've said is fair, but at this point there is a crux.

If you don't get behind him or Labour you're getting more of the Tories and maybe Johnson.

Now, is that preferable to Starmer, despite his shortcomings?

I'm not a Labour supporter, but if there was a GE tomorrow I'd be voting for them purely because it's the only opportunity to get rid of the Tories, and that has to be the priority.
