Always helps being taken over by billionaires I suppose.

Has it helped Reading or Sunderland? Ten years ago they were your classic yo-yo teams ruining competition and hoarding resources - now they're nowhere. Good, I say.

The growing influence of billionaires on football is commensurate with their growing influence on society as a whole. I'm not sure if there was ever a time when the fortunes of football clubs didn't depend on (comparatively) super-wealthy owners to bankroll the operation. It's up to the authorities to make sure the rules allow for proper competition - I agree it's trending in the wrong direction, but I don't think the game's completely gone down the tubes just yet.

We welcomed the billionaires with open arms. It drove up prices and wages to the point where an obscene TV deal was needed to help other clubs meet the new financial reality.

Then we pumped up the parachute payments because relegated clubs would have been paying wages from another universe. Clubs in this league then have a choice of finding a tycoon, gambling, or squeezing out a mini miracle on a level budget.

If you want to whore out your leagues to billionaires that is the consequence.
Good post.

Match suspended because of a pitch invasion ref has said he’ll abandon it if it happens again…

Players back out for now

You know you spent too long in the lower leagues when you hate every team in the league 2 play offs. Why the fuck are they even on my radar?

Just watched the highlights of the efl games Sheffield United goals were all shots not at the keeper - 4 goals if we can do that next season we will be promoted

Strangely, I think I saw something recently where Alan Shearer said he always purposely aimed at the keeper knowing that 9 times out of 10 he would get a slight mis-hit and it would go past them.

Preston have released a few players including Scott Sinclair he’s a dead leg I wouldn’t want him just the biggest name.
