It’s more a case of SBT ahead of the curve. The popularity of the monarchy has been falling for years. Traditionally it sees an up turn in jubilee years. Not happened this year. The trend remains on a downward curve. It’s still above 50 % in favour but amongst younger adults the monarchy is about as popular as a fart at a funeral. Royalists are a dying breed and I can’t see the behaviour of Andrew and the Queen bailing him out garnering any favour with the more awake generations to reverse that. The monarchy isn’t going to survive another 70 years without a major reform.

There are at least checks and balances on the president along with a fixed term limit. Andrew only got close to Epstein because of his inherited position, and only got off with it because his mum used her inherited and taxpayer supported wealth to bail him out.

I went to protest at the 2012 river show. We had secured a place that could hold thousands but the police only let in a few hundred despite the paperwork being done. No British media were there but plenty of foreign news outlets interviewing people.
