If hamers on 14k a week and we get someone in up to 14k a week, don't see the issue. Also out of the 'big 3' hamer is very replaceable
Your replacement would be? I think he brings so much to our team that will not be noticed untill he is not there ie his corners free kicks and crossfield passes and his forward drive.

My job isn't to scout a replacement. But if MR and gang do not have a lis of at least 5 possible replacements then I'd be very worried.

I think selling one of our assets for mega money and being able to then sign several high quality players with the funds would leave us in a much stronger position than if we kept all 3 and had a far reduced budget to bring in lower calibre players.

We are in a win win situation, we either keep our best players or we are in a position to demand mega money and then reinvest and strengthen across the team as a whole.
We won’t get to spend any of the transfer fee

What kind of response are you expecting to your question? A full list of any global footballer who could possibly replace Hamer? . Of course he’s replaceable by somebody, did you know of Hamer before he signed? I’d bet the answer is no, in which case as proven a player like him can come from anywhere.

Twaddle. Money goes out, money comes in. You can't say where £50,000 income of ST sales goes out in expenditure, just as you can't say where £3m of transfer income goes out in expenditure. It's all about the balance sheet. To pretend that any income from Hamer's sale won't help MR's ability to spend on the team is nuts.

larry david you said "very replacaeble" I hope so bearing in mind we hope to improve the team year on year by selling him we weaken it in my opinion. We desperately need to strenthen the players coming off the bench in more than 1 position and find a class act to replace Haymer on his transfer fee will need extra investment which i doubt will be forthcoming.Mark cannot keep performing miracles every season. Please keep Harmer

Once again it's pessimism all round with some of you.IF Hamer is sold for what is rumoured to be around the 5m mark then Robins will be given money to reinvest. You don't weaken the side that nearly grabbed a playoff place and could go one better next season and do what Forest have done. It would be madness to SISU to not allow a large part of those funds for suitable replacement. If we don't we could be fighting at the wrong end of the table and even SISU can see the sense in what has been achieved the last few years under Robins and must back him. Who knows, there could be a pot of gold waiting at the end of next season? No one says break the bank, something that's never going to happen under SISU but reinvesting fully at a crucial stage is vital if we are to maintain a challenge, see 18/20k crowds continue and the overall income improve year on.

5 million is pretty insignificant especially given we wouldn't even get it all up front. The owner doesn't particularly mind what league we're in, that's abundantly clear.

I agree £5m is insignificant (or at least a large undervaluation imo). The fact that the money isn't up front makes little difference though, as the same would apply to purchasing any replacement(s).

Which is true, but it is relevant if we want to add players beyond replacing whoever is sold.

It’ll be Kelle Roos ex Derby no 1 who’s out of contract that’ll be the replacement.

Can’t really see anyone else that’s even remotely at the right level for nowt out there.

If moore was to leave, I'd go and get Southwood from Reading, much better than Roos, I've read somewhere he's available for transfer

Not sure what the plans are
Ben Wilson played in the last few games of the season. At the time i thought it was to give a popular ĺad game time once the play off spots had gone but maybe there was more to it?

Neither Roos or Southwood are good enough
Yeah exactly, can't see why he'd want to leave unless he's got a big move lined up, someone did mention on here that someone other than the big 3 is moving on and a replacement is already lined up. Hopefully not Moore.

The idea of signing these older guys on free transfers to then sell them for a fee not long after is interesting. Unless we really are that strapped for cash despite another record breaking ST sale.
