His vision is great too..also hes 2 steps ahead of most players he tries a bit too much at times. He actually has 2 great feet. Big frustration like most our players he should shoot more as he has a great shot.

And hes excellent with his head too.

If he gets the right move and gets in the limelight more he would be in Dutch squad.

You are falling into the overall career scenario here G. Yes, I know he played hundreds of times for Everton.

At this stage I was playing football myself so watching City was not possible week in week out, but - geniune question- how good was Carsley for us in the second tier? (Expecting a particular three word answer from you here! )

I would sooner have Hamer than Carsley. Hamer is a far more gifted footballer. He may have played hundreds of top flight games but the standard of player has risen enormously since Carsley time. Would he get into a PL team these days? I don't think so.

Still remember that day, most specifically the article in The Pink afterwards. It mentioned that we shouldn’t accept promotion in 2nd place. This was after (from memory) two late goals from corners against Stockport!.
That team is quality though. I know Chippo wasn’t interested and Carskey was desperate to leave, but that 11 should’ve got promoted- if they’d stayed and were engaged!

Different kind of players but Carsley was a good player for us and made over 250 PL apps in total. No mug

Lee Carsley who played around 300 games in the Premier League and had 40 international caps? Different types of players but no mistake, he had a great career and was a quality player, he left a massive hole when he left.
