Everton signed him from us which was a better move than a club like FulhamLee Carsley who played around 300 games in the Premier League and had 40 international caps?

I can’t see us spending big to replace Hamer , think if we sell any others that might change@Skybluebeliever please please please tell me we will replace Gus and not go into the season with Allen and Sheaf in midfield with only Kelly and Eccles as back up?! That screams league 1

Carsley was great in the relegation season and it's probably not a complete coincidence that our form fell apart after he'd been sold. Such a short-sighted decision. You are falling into the overall career scenario here G. Yes, I know he played hundreds of times for Everton.
At this stage I was playing football myself so watching City was not possible week in week out, but - geniune question- how good was Carsley for us in the second tier? (Expecting a particular three word answer from you here! )
Far enough, I personally think he is easier to replace than O'Hare and GyokeresTotally disagree

Of course Maddison is the better player now but the question is when they were playing for us. Personally I think Maddison probably still shades it. Certainly not Carsley though!Maddison was either 18 or 19 then hardly a fair comparison. Both are 25 and I think at the moment Maddison is the better of the two.
He could tackle without getting booked. I'd take that over a nice looking outside of the foot 50 yard pass any day of the week.I’m not knocking Carsley. He was a good player. But to technically compare him to Hamer is nonsense.
The Carsley comparison was ridiculous.I would sooner have Hamer than Carsley. Hamer is a far more gifted footballer. He may have played hundreds of top flight games but the standard of player has risen enormously since Carsley time. Would he get into a PL team these days? I don't think so.
Come on, Phillips is going to Man City for £50m, hes a pretty limited player.I would sooner have Hamer than Carsley. Hamer is a far more gifted footballer. No he's not. He's a very talented and versatile player. I think Pep might know.Come on, Phillips is going to Man City for £50m, hes a pretty limited player.

He did take cornersWonder who will be on set pieces if hamer and kane go. Did Palmer take them for Bristol?
He will be on the bench most weeks like Grealish. On a technical level, Rodri, Silva, Gundogan are streets ahead if him. Plus he adds to the English quota they require to meet.No he's not. He's a very talented and versatile player. I think Pep might know.
So we will look for another gem like him then, hopefully it pays off, for sisu and the club’s sakeI can’t see us spending big to replace Hamer , think if we sell any others that might change
He doesnt seem like a Pep type of player, so this transfer seems a bit strange to me, of all leeds players I thought they would have been in for RaphinhaNo he's not. He's a very talented and versatile player. I think Pep might know.
Fair enough. It's a matter of opinion and we can only wait and see.He doesnt seem like a Pep type of player, so this transfer seems a bit strange to me, of all leeds players I thought they would have been in for Raphinha
Completely true, he may give Man City a whole new dimension for all we know and introduce them to a more rash and energetic style of playFair enough. It's a matter of opinion and we can only wait and see.
Is he mates with kane?I think we have had bids this week for all three , it’s always been accepted one will go and Hamer unfortunately is the favoured one and I think he probably needs a fresh start and to get away from the area . The hope is we keep it to one

My thoughts exactly, Ik its only words but he said that he loves it here, I think he was just playing the game or something trying to please us supporters as Im sure he likes us fans but probably not the areaWhy does he feel he needs a fresh start and to get away from the area?

Tell him holidays are over!! Training time now! Nah fair play to him.I'm currently in Samoan Joe's and our £1m Brazilian is in there. He's absolutely loving it
That’s never going to happen. As we progress as a club our wage bill gets bigger and bigger (over and above revenue increases), so to expect us to sell a player and reinvest all of the fee in an equal fee is unrealistic.Whats your definition of big? As long as we’re spending around the fee we got him for and bringing in another I’ll be happy. Anything else is declining the squad.
That’s not happening and there’s been nothing to suggest that’s the case.Looking forward to a full season of Jamie Allen as first choice centre mid…

Oh gotcha - in that case yes fully agreeI don't think that's what he's saying, he means spend a similar fee as the one it took to sign Hamer, e.g. £1m+, accepting a large portion will be swallowed up elsewhere.
CoH is integral to way we play though.I can’t be the only one who thinks O’Hare won’t have attracted much interest, certainly not on the level Hamer and Gyökeres have - He is nowhere near scoring or assisting enough
He sure is he set the tempo. Cracking little player if his finishing improves he would go to another level.CoH is integral to way we play though.
