I don’t think that’s what a trans person is, but OK.
I'm saying it opens it up to those because they know it can't be questioned.

Completely different to somebody who has been through years of counselling and hormone treatment / surgery.

The fundamental question here is “how trans is enough to make women feel safe?” data suggests the answer is “surgery” and I think a majority would accept a law that was basically what we have but you need surgery for a GRC and womens groups were still allowed female only groups for support (because frankly whatever works man). I think that would work for prisons too, where the main horror is the idea of an intact rapist let loose in a womens prison.

I also think there’s scope to look at rules that don’t allow women to play in mens leagues and clarification around intersex athletes (perhaps as well as more categories) to make sports more inclusive. As well as any where sex differences don’t apply.

I’m not sure a majority of trans activists would accept that though

The irony here is nobody on this forum to my knowledge is a trans man or woman. And if there is but they’re just not comfortable saying so, I wonder how some of the views on here would affect them.

Not any more. I believe we scared the only one we had off, which is a really sad indictment of the quality of debate TBQH. There’s been people mention friends and family too. I have a trans coworker, my brother in law is non-binary.

It’s a really shitty debate, but it’s a debate that’s needed and all the moderate voices stepping out saying it’s too toxic will just leave the likes of Ben Shapiro to set the tone.

Then maybe don’t ascribe views to me that I don’t hold. In the PSHE sessions I give in school we spend a good amount of time on how boys can make girls and women feel more at ease around us in their daily life.

Yet I was accused of saying women shouldn’t be allowed to use their own changing rooms and that I didn’t care about women who had previously been assaulted. My wife gets scared stiff of that each time she travels on her own.

Fucks sake, I'm nor ascribing you with any thing you didn't say. You said a woman has a right not to use use a communal space which is basically an up yours if you don't like it.

And you're the one who kept telling people all they were going on about was the risk of assault when clearly we weren't.

Well exactly-but your earlier comments on chopping tits off and whatnot else I don’t think would be helpful. As is the twisting of ‘nobody has to use communal facilities’ as to say ‘sod off if you don’t like it’. I don’t use them now because I don’t like undressing in front of others-and I suspect I’m not the only one.

Hasn’t been too bad imo. So far we’ve had Nick being deeply concerned about safe spaces for women and Grendel becoming a fierce advocate for prisoner welfare!

I said they have that right *now*. Which is the same right I exercise now in not using men’s changing rooms or showers.

As Clint alluded to the fact I have a teenage daughter makes that one a little more personal than most. But I think that’s a fair point.

Funnily enough, if I remember was nothing at all to do with either of us. It was some arguing on other threads.

But women have a right to women only showers without a man identifying as a woman in them? Yes?

Think this sums a fair bit up really.

It's ok to not go over the top with pretentious do gooding to look like a good person online.

You can think women's football isn't very good whilst not thinking a woman belongs in the kitchen else they get a slap. It's not exclusive.

Some just don't get on the bandwagoning trends at the time and make out they have never said or done anything that could offend.

oh dear you really are having a bad day. My 1 daughter who likes football thinks it’s utter shite. Is she allowed that view - lovely trivialisation though

Again. Look how much Amy challenor and her old man got away with because they were hiding behind the trans stuff.

Can't question it though as you are transphobic. That's what happens when people just go over the top trying to show how good and thoughtful they are.

BSB wouldn’t or SBT - they’d report you for breaching human rights

Anyway, Tom Tugendhat: looks and sounds a bit like an incidental character in the Kingsman movies, no?

Badenoch had some interesting things to say, but terrible delivery and blatantly reading from notes like a Y7 in an assembly at times.

Mordaunt and Sunak seem paper thin. Truss is Truss. When do we get another round of voting?

She has a right to not use the communal space at all.

this was in a response to a woman sharing with a naked man - the woman has a right not to be there and not oddly to object to a naked man in the shower - she can’t complain about that

Not a bad day just won’t have it implied that I don’t care about vulnerable women or their safety. Good to see you in better spirits anyway

Sunak is the only one I found remotely credible, but then he and Truss were the only ones actually giving examples - Truss's examples were bollocks (although applying interview metaphors, she'd have stormed one of them!) and Sunak may have won me over just by calling the rest of their tax cut promises fantasy. At least he showed some teeth!

It was meant to be about not sharing with anyone. As I keep saying, most of my life I haven’t used communal areas like that because I find it uncomfortable-so I exercise the right I already have.

Truss had worse delivery (including making her closing remarks to the wrong camera). She was abysmal.

It's clear the right wing press want her because she'll be easily malleable. But my god she'll embarrass herself and her party at every opportunity.

She's the best choice for Labour though.

Sunak was miles ahead in terms of debate and rewind the last labour leadership he’s miles ahead of their performances

I was surprised how dominant he was - his problem is he looked at everyone else as if they were complete retards - then again.
