O'Hare bids (43 Viewers)

I would say a fee of £10m, some in instalments fair enough, and stacked with add ons. We know they have the money, we know they really want him, we know he’s not agitating to leave so let’s extract as much as we can.

If it’s 6m and only wages to replace him then that gives some 11/12 vibes along with some serious fan unrest.
I think it's a good point. Burnley have arguably given their game away showing so much interest and with Kompany openly speaking about O'Hare. This should give us very decent negotiating power and we should push them hard for as much as possible.

I'd suspect if Robins is given nothing after such a significant sale I think he would have a mind's eye on his next job.

Well according to my mate who had a chat with Overson today its £6 million.

Only delay is Burnley want to do it in installments and we want it in full whack.

Oh and not a penny of it is going to Robins for reinvestment

If thats the case, then thats the last 5 years of fan support gone in one move. I for one would stop sticking up for the owners if so

Sort of thing that makes a manager walk and its not even the fee .. the no reinvestment part as clearly then we have no model its no different to Brian Richardson apart from the fact that Richardson actually purchased some players before fleecing us

Counter to that is that selling all 3 at the same time may cause a worse fan reaction, and the turnover would create greater risk.

It would happen at a time when Robins’ spending power would be far greater without so many unwanted players eating up wages. If we believe in all of them as players they will only increase their value this season.

On Callum O'Hare: "I'm all for transparency. I would rather not lie but these things are hard until they are done, they can still go wrong. We think he is a great player, and we think he would be great for us but is a deal done, no."
I'd be adding a couple of million onto the price for the attempt to unsettle. Disrespectful.

Give it 10 days or so and i think we will all get the chance to give an opinion on what has gone on. In my opinion, i think many will feel let down and cheated, i hope i am wrong but time will tell.

Reading this post is so interesting - some fans want an extortionate amount money for a lad that doesn’t create much and comverts about 1 in 10 chances.

Undoubtedly he is a fans favourite for his willingness to run, he is exciting on the ball and he appears to love it here

But football is a money game now.

I for one am interested in who steps up should O’Hare leave - it could create a new way of playing and who knows may make the team more successful - or, according to some it would be the end of the world and we would be relegated by Christmas

Either way, every team is a selling club - including the likes of City and Liverpool - it is what it is.

In addition, I see Boddy getting stick for a transaction that has not even happened yet - we all knew that we would lose one if not two of the ‘big 3’ - I personally think £6 million, maybe rising to £8 million is about right. In any other business buying for free and selling for millions would be praised massively.

Finally, I’m glad that Sheaf appears to have gone under the radar - for me a better, if different player to O’Hare.

That is right SISU watched city under Richardson and thought that'll work the other way round.
Also think Robins at some point will have had enough and walked because he's proved his quality now and we will sink like a stone.

6-8m is about right for who? He’s worth more than that to us, and that’s the figure we should be asking for.

nathan collins isn’t worth 20m but that’s what Burnley asked for. O’Hare clearly isn’t bothered about going - we should be asking for a stupid amount and if Burnley are willing to pay it than that’s on them.

we shouldn’t be having to appease anyone except the fans, 10-15m is what the fans would consider acceptable and that’s what the figure should be.

It’s not about market value-it’s about the buying club being desperate to land the player and being flush with money as their reward for being relegated. If they’re that keen that the manager publicly tries to unsettle us they can and will pay a bit more.

He’ll also be very difficult to replace-so we need all the money we can get to help do that.

we won’t be charging more just because he’s mentioned it in the press

as if o hare doesn’t know the offer that’s there anyway

I didn’t say we should get rid, don’t twist words to suit the narrative old boy. I said it’s right that Boddy would push the transfer if the amount of money on offer is of an amount that aids the future of the club. I’m actually in agreement with you for the distain of the owners, but unlike you and a few others I just accept it is what it is, there’s far worse out there. And we cut our cloth accordingly. You just just bitch and whinge 24 hours a day and nothing they ever do is the right thing in your eyes. It’s pathetic. But still, I’m the clown eh.

The money isn’t going to be aiding the club is it.

It’s pretty obvious we wanted to move Hamer out and no one is interested at the fee so we move to plan B. That in itself isn’t going to help the mood in the management camp

You accept what it is just about sums it up. Sisu have created this acceptance that as long as they Keri the club ticking along we shouldn’t complain

Nonsense. They have no emotional attachment to the club and seemingly no ability to raise funds for future planning

Now a debenture is raised to I assume offer short term cash flow funding at high interest charges which we need to pay off so disposing an asset is a rapid and urgent priority. That in itself creates an issue on market value

Boddy had no experience of sales negotiation at this level and it’s pretty obvious he set a minimum bar with Amateur Hour press releases going back to last January

Forgive me for being underwhelmed

It’s the last trick in the book to put pressure on the club. If you know someone’s desperate to buy you can charge more-simple.

We are the ones who are desperate to sell they won’t be paying more

Be that as it may the point was we can and should push for more.

Its unlikely we can push for anything and if we aren’t careful we will end up with a mcsheffrey debacle at the death selling a player for very little.

If we need to sell the longer we carry on the lower the price will be

Well what leads me to think we can are a) how much Burnley want him and b) how much they have in the bank. Seeing as they already paid 4m for a League 1 player untested at this level, 10 for someone who is already proven isn't unreasonable and I'm not convinced it would put them off.

Irrelevant I suppose if we are already set on the fee and are haggling over getting it all in one sum

I think if £6m fee is true that it'll be one we come to regret.

If it's true that we're just haggling over getting one payment rather than several then it's further evidence that Boddy isn't up to negotiating at this level. And that our owners either can't or won't put anything in except at Wonga levels of interest

That is of course if someone, who heard from a mate, who talked to Overson, who would have heard from.......hasn't got a bit of Chinese whispers about it ?!

Wish we would just give them a price and if they match it they match it but if they don’t then fuck them, Never good losing a player of his importance a week before season starts especially when I don’t see a single player who could fill his boots in the squad, so sell him fast get a replacement.
