long way home

If he got chance to talk to them no way would he turn it down on wages alone. I don't blame him and will be a player id genuinely look out for. He will have nothing but respect for the fans and im sure they will show him it back.

I think he is happy here he’s said as much and I know money talks but who is pushing this, Boddy, Fisher and what if O’Hare tells them to do one

Tbh SBB you're normally better informed than me
But once an agent tells a player the size of what's on offer the writing is on the wall
There are exceptions like Steven Gerrard back in the day for instance but usually they're at clubs that can pay something approaching the potential buyer even if they can't beat it
Yes and once they see what is on offer who can blame them but I think you will be aware , none of these players are wanting to leave and love it here
I think for O’hare it will be a massive move for him , in terms of moving away from family and friends

I spose really we couldn't have dreamed of even having a player of his calibre 5 years ago let alone losing one. It's all relative.

Is the imminent move more down to our board encouraging him to move so we can get the money?

Thanks for your insight, which correlates with my experience with players having a tough experience when realising that they are commodities to be traded.
Alongside this is the role of the agent, who is conflicted …. They make significant money from such a move as this.
Young players need to understand that some agents are “not their best mate”.

I'd be surprised if he went just for the money. When he first joined us, he could have accepted any of the contracts Villa offered him with a hope of getting a better offer from a bigger club if he was that way inclined. But he chose to drop from Prem League (under 23s ?) to League 1. And he's seen us improve. So would you jump to a bigger ship with more of a chance of being reduced to be a squad player or stick it out here and be a key player ?

We're expecting him to leave but a small number of players do have a loyalty to clubs that shown a commitment to them.
