From memory that was entirely Dulieu's fault - unsurprisingly.

Le Fondre was keen to come here but Dulieu thought if he left it to the very last second he'd be able to get him on a cut price deal.

Shockingly Reading swooped in and we had to opt for McDonald instead

The manager was poor and the team not much better but do you reckon we would have stayed up if we got him?

A lot of the losses were by fine margains. From memory we never really got battered apart from the last game of the season vs Southampton where there was nothing to play for.

So it's difficult to say whether Le Fondre would've made a significant difference or not, but we certainly would've had a far better chance of staying up that season with him in the side. Regardless it's irrelevant though as we probably would've gone down the season after anyway.

If Le Fondre had had a decent season for us in 11/12 he would've been sold the following summer and Keogh I suspect would've gone even if we had stayed up.

Well at the moment we can’t persuade anyone to take him on loan never mind pay a fee. So at the moment it’s looking a flop-but he’s got one last crack at it this season and with our finances let’s hope he finds some form.
Strange thing is,so many players find their form in the last year of their contract.
Always puzzled me that has. 🤔🤔😉

Not a target as we sent him back after an unimpressive trial…

Poor guy, apparently they didn’t even mean to sign him either!
