I had a call from a friend who thinks the EFL will at least fine us for this, and possibly issue a points deduction. Anyone know what the actual rules might be around this?

That would be harsh, we can’t control what our landlord does

It’s a shambles all round. Not sure why the first couple of fixtures weren’t moved to be away. Three days of back to back rugby in the middle of summer, a week before kick off was probably never going to end well…not forgetting the concert 🤦‍♂️

It's a breach of contact from Wasps and expect the club to recover any costs associated with rearranging the fixture

The pitch needs relaying, we won't be playing Wednesday and may even struggle to play against Huddersfield in two weeks

The above happening shortly after the announcement of Wasps being in financial trouble. Interesting couple of weeks ahead

That’s good Dave I’m sure you only knew it as like this yesterday

Sorry G, but maybe he did.

Do you know the protocols of the Commonwealth games and the strict security measures in place? It’s possible he hasn’t had entry to the stadium since well before the stadium was taken over for the games.

I did some work at the Manchester games snd you couldn’t get close to the stadium without verification.

Suggestion for the club

If Wasps are skint....

We pay for the cost of the pitch repair, yet deduct it from any future rent payments that are due (not sure of the cost involved, but we ought to be able to sort it, especially if we benefit from paying them naff all in the meantime)

10 days ago I have never known being so excited & optimistic about the beginning of the season. Then we had the O’Hare injury, and now this shit show. I’m sure EFL will take action. We obviously have no influence at all in regards to The CBS, rumours of our grounds people not being allowed access this week etc. The council and Wasps hate Sisu & therefore us. They can ask for as many urgent meetings as they want, but if we want the pitch sorted we’ll need to pay for it I’m sure.

100%. Take some responsibility. Should have been a drop in pitch after concert. We shod have made it happen.
If they'd dropped a new pitch in after the concert and 19 days later had 66 games of 7s in three days it would look exactly the same as it does now, if not worse

If i take Wasps to court for my flight tickets, and it sends them under, will I get a statue?

I think the whole thing stinks but I suspect this has more to it than just a cancelled game

13000 season ticket holders too, could we not hire St Andrews until the end of September with Wasps footing the bill.

Why were the commonwealth games given exclusive rights to the pitch when they knew our first home game was scheduled for tomorrow's date??? Flown over from Ireland with my wife, this means at least 8 hours of shopping tomorrow now instead of a game the despair!!!
They have to have exclusivity to all venues for an agreed period of time. Wasps would have signed this off long before our fixtures were known. Precisely why villa turned it down however I'm sure

The fact we continue to rely on these irrelevant cunts to play in a stadium built for our football club continues to be the absolute embarrassment it's always been.
Wish I could say this was surprising but its not really is it.

This would appear to be an important point. Seems like we tried to squeeze extra games in before the ground was to be made available - I doubt we have a leg to stand on. I bet there's some BSing going on here...
