Expect a story in the next 48 hours from the clubs favoured journalist James Nursey with a few juicy revelations in there

Have they just done fuck all to it all summer? Shockingly bad. Even with the commonwealth events it’s been a good summer weather wise. All they had to do was put the sprinklers on, mow it and roll it.

“I am seeking urgent talks with Stephen Vaughan, the Chief Executive at Wasps, and the Arena over the condition of the pitch, and expect immediate and significant improvements to be made to make the pitch playable as soon as possible.”

At least there isn't some stupidly timed World Cup this year...

I know right. I am an STH but paid £25 for a ticket for someone else who lives in australia so can’t go to a rearranged date. I will email them and hopefully then they will give a refund

Yep crap situation, rare for me to actually able to make weekend games currently but could make tomorrow. Booked 4 tickets for the fam + parking and hotel, thought wed make a weekend of it. I can probably make a rearranged week night one but the kids/wife won't.

It just doesn’t add up to me. So CWG bollocks books up the stadium until 14th August, finishing games on the pitch as little as a few days before CCFCs first home fixture. We have a 10 year deal and must surely have rights based on that ?
How much was that loan of facilities to CWG worth to Wasps ?
At what point did our football club suspect the pitch would be wrecked ?
Is the pitch even that wrecked in reality ?
Something stinks about all of this and from past experience I can see our friends from Mayfair will have guessed all along that there would be a breach of contractual obligations coming up ?
All circumspective of course but fucksake are we off again ……☹️

Predictable, wishy, washy shite from those wankers and of course no acknowledgment of any wrongdoing or hint of an apology. Almost implying the commonwealth games were doing us a favour letting us into the ground whilst that poxy thing was on.

Adam Peaty was spot on the other day when he lost and said the commonwealths were shit anyway. It’s one step away from the special Olympics.

I don't know...I don't manage their bloody diaries. Your anti-DB agenda is actually embarrassing.

Wasps are clearly in the wrong here. Have you ever gone a day without moaning about something/someone at the club?

I guess once the new ground is built - I think planning permission was 3 years away when it was announced - so guess it’s being finalised soon - we will be in charge of our own destiny

it’s happening isn’t it?

(y) Agreed.

If the Club statement is right and Wasps promised to allocate funds to improve the pitch before the start of our season, when the **** did they expect to do it ? They knew how much time they had and the available time periods for relaying. If they'd done it before the pop concert, the pitch would have been damaged and then the CWG would have completely rutted the area as the pictures show. Smacks of false platitudes from our landlords again. With the knowledge that they are up against the financial wall, it's obvious they were agreeing to any payday and not considering our scheduling. We're being treated like their bondholders, fed :poop: and kept in the dark.

The pitch is not going to be playable by Wednesday and it won't be fit before the next round would be due so we need to forfeit the Bristol cup game (before being kicked out of the comp by the EFL and walloped with a fine) and let SiSu pester the bleepers in court over lost earnings.

I think they'll switch the fixture if asked.

While Brizzle may be willing, it's the local Police that have the final say. They used to demand 10 days for cup replays to organise. Can't imagine the SW Constabulary doing it in 3 1/2 days.

Surely you would expect Stephen Vaughan to have been at the pitch either yesterday or today unless on holiday

WASPS given money via CCC to do work at ARENA to host CWG events. WASPS receive rent from CWG

Reeves (again) involved aided by Street? How otherwise did Birmingham games end up at Longford?

But why did we wait until Friday. And why wasn’t it called off Friday and where’s the apology to all our fans who’ve changed plans and spent hundreds of pounds??

What, playing one game?

not sure it’s a crazy concept to discuss. Let’s say the pitch needs totally relaying. We can’t play a home match for 6 weeks. Tend to not do so well away so we lag behind. Then we are playing catch up and the home games take on an added pressure. Regardless this big club doesn’t own it’s ground and can’t ensure a playable pitch for the first home game of the season. It’s a tad Micky Mouse
