I think this is most likely as well as a possible fine. This way the EFL are looking to be taking action as well as putting in place preventative actions to stop it happening again next season, especially if it's only a repair to the pitch to get us through this seasonSuspended points deduction to prevent (or deter) the farce happening again should be suffice.
The only rule we might have breached is the lateness of the situation being identified but the 60 odd rugby matches played at the CBS was only a week or so before the season kicked off and the CWG put a ring of steel round the stadium preventing access, the actual damage to the pitch had nothing to do with ccfc.
What difference does that make & what rule has ccfc broken ? that’s what the EFL will decide. The ground staff had normal access during that time
Its okay, we are going to reach the play offs with or without all those fake fans, where were they when we were shit. (Not everyone I am aware some people had good reasons to not attend)A points deduction might be another nail in our coffin. Some fair-weather fans won't turn up if we're at minus points already - they'll see the season as a write-off - which will impact on gate receipts and hit our already fragile finances. The optimism many felt has been stripped away by all of this.
EFL speak for BS. There is no way they can impose a fine after agreeing the pitch is unsafe and not forcing CCFC to play on it. CCFC have been in constant contact with the EFL over this as I understand it, and would not have taken the risk of fines or other inpositions if the EFL had warned them it was a possibility?
