Suspended points deduction to prevent (or deter) the farce happening again should be suffice.

I think this is most likely as well as a possible fine. This way the EFL are looking to be taking action as well as putting in place preventative actions to stop it happening again next season, especially if it's only a repair to the pitch to get us through this season

any points sanction would make it very difficult for UK to run a sustainable major championship in the future, where they may want to use existing stadia - therefore this would not be on the table

A points deduction might be another nail in our coffin. Some fair-weather fans won't turn up if we're at minus points already - they'll see the season as a write-off - which will impact on gate receipts and hit our already fragile finances. The optimism many felt has been stripped away by all of this.

Its okay, we are going to reach the play offs with or without all those fake fans, where were they when we were shit. (Not everyone I am aware some people had good reasons to not attend)

We're going to be made to play on a pitch not fit for purpose of playing the style of football that our manager wants. Thats punishment enough isn't it, but I suspect the EFL will put their boot in as well.

EFL speak for BS. There is no way they can impose a fine after agreeing the pitch is unsafe and not forcing CCFC to play on it. CCFC have been in constant contact with the EFL over this as I understand it, and would not have taken the risk of fines or other inpositions if the EFL had warned them it was a possibility?

They will be asking what measures we put in place

Coventry could lose points

Coventry City could be hit by a points deduction with their Championship rivals furious that their opening three home games of the season have been postponed due to the pitch at their ground being deemed unsafe.

Huddersfield Town’s scheduled trip to Coventry today was cancelled on Wednesday after the club’s previous home games against Rotherham and Millwall were called off — while last week’s Carabao Cup tie against Bristol City was moved 42 miles to Burton upon Trent.

Coventry have promised to spend over £100,000 on pitch improvements and are confident they will be able to face Preston at home on August 31, but the EFL must decide whether to refer the matter to an independent panel or invite the club to enter into a plea bargain.
