Worcester maybe going into admin before being bought out, the closed shop the RFU have caused is ridiculous, if they gave out more money to championship clubs it would be so much more competitive. Teams like Ealing, Cornish Pirates, Cov etc would be chomping at the bit for promotion, the stupid requirement of a 10000 all seater stadium don't help at all one bit.

How many rugby clubs regularly get 10,000 fans every game?

It highlights how dumb the Wasps purchase of the CBS was. Even at the time of the purchase, I always wondered what a rugby club would do with a 32k seater stadium.

Tweet from Worcester News equivalent to Bobby Bridge

Breaking Warriors update: I have been informed that the August payroll (due tomorrow) “at this moment” will not be fulfilled for staff and players. According to the owners, this is due to the accounts being frozen. The overall outcome for the club remains uncertain

If nothing else, I'd have though that Worcester approaching Wasps says a lot about the position that Wasps are in. It would make no sense for Worcester to approach a club with no survival issues, with such a proposal.

It's not going well for them is it. Saying that, I'm impressed with how much public money Wasps seem to be able to screw out of the council/WMCA...

Didn’t they block another hotel being built in the area so that the London side could build one?

Probably difficult to find investors to build a hotel in these COVID times and all the bond furore wouldn't have helped.

yep on the junk yard. Wanted to have a Marriott and Macdonalds as well. Council said out of the centre and traffic issues.

You would think the council would have been happy to improve the area it hardly looks great on the way in scrapyard one side and Rowleys Green club on the other.

I'm no financier, but, wouldn't two fcked up companies getting into bed with each other just result in an even more fcked up company?
Just seems odd to me, but in a world of Brexit, Old Etonians, and 'offshore', I guess nothing is out of the ordinary.

Wouldn't they just form a new company and have a golden share whilst their old companies are liquidated

Cant wait till the bond holders see this on the bond site!!!

Some Bondholders ( and Drunken Wasps ) were led to believe this was a WASPS asset

But when the first licence ran out it was reissued to a Richardson associated company instead. Notice it refers to Mr Richardson ... missing out

Unless the merger was based on Wasps moving to Worcester and the arena etc sold to satisfy the bondholders.

kind of ironic in that Worcester weren't happy with Wasps moving into the area in the first place - youth recruitment and poaching supporters

Poor old WASPS fans. I don’t think Wycombe fans would move even further. The plastic neutrals who go at the moment certainly wouldn’t. Anyway, what dumbass suggested this?

Gilberts next tweet was genius, "Here are some previous statements from Wasps on commercial matters..." and a list of links to the relevant articles

I think Simon Gilbert has done pretty well with his investigating and reporting of all the recent CBS/Wasps issues.

Seems to be asking the right questions, and then highlights when those questions are being met with silence

One of the articles that Gilbert linked to from Dec 2014 has some crackers...

He (Richardson) said: "I’m not a property developer, I’ve never developed anything in my life.
Tbf, that's still true; he failed to develop the land around the Higgs, and car park C...

"I’ve never thought of this as something I might make profit from.
Well that's handy...

"We’ve got the chance to build something great here, making Wasps the best club in Europe, and I’m really looking forwards to standing back and seeing what we’ve got in five or seven years."
Oh...
