Comments on Dabo I think a little harsh.

He's a player who always struggles off the bench but even yesterday I liked how assertive he was on the pitch. As we were chasing the game he was also forced by the game situation to try things that he wouldn't normally do.

For me Dabo starts at RWB every time ahead of Eccles - maybe a closer call when Kane is fit but I see Dabo as very good RWB at this level and for the energy he brings to the team.

Yep I’m still peddling nonsense that stats don’t tell the full story.

Nor do highlight reels.

Player transfers are huge investments and I think deserve more due diligence.

Even if it means giving the full match videos for the entire season to a couple of club connected scouts, trainers or trusted ex pros to study over a day or three then I’d prefer that over looking at stats and CCFC diving in.

See Jobello, Kasta, and half the other silly signing we’ve made for details. How much money wasted? More than we had to age hence situations like Hyam.

Stick stats where they belong. In the hole.
You listen to the head of recruitment when we signed them, they had all been watched. They hadn't been signed in a "moneyball" way based on stats and highlights reels as you suggest.

A key part of limiting the risk is clearly in the homework the recruitment department does on players.
“All we can do is be as diligent as we can with our recruitment,” said Badlan.
“And that’s why we watch players as many times as we do; why we speak to their previous coaches and do the statistical analysis so that no stone is left unturned. But you need all the luck in the world for a footballer to be successful as well.

Hamer for instance was on his radar for a few years when he was at Wolves, he had been tracking for a long period, before we signed him.

"Assertive?" What do you mean by that?

We were chasing the game because of his "assertive" headed clearance.

MR gets a big fat 0 for that team he picked last night. We haven't won yet first home game and doesn't start with his best 11 and then takes off Sheaf who was having a decent game leaves Allen on Godden never had a kick but played all game .Sometimes his choices are poor.

Steve, I understand that this season isn't going as planned - far from it for quite a few factors both in the control of the club and out of the club's control. But in general terms the negativity on this site has recently been off the scale over the last few weeks. We've played 4 games, 1 at home. Add Hamer, Palmer, a fully fit Dabo/Kane and O'Hare into yesterday's side and we're going to be more than ok. Not promotion contenders but we will hold our own. In terms of perspective we've kept our best players over through this transfer window and it wasn't so long ago that we were 10th in L2. Let's keep the support for the lads on the pitch - the unity has been key to our success over the last 4 seasons.
We can keep the support that has been shown by over 23,000 fans but Shitsu are not supporting the fans or the team so its either fuck off or invest in the future, we have our best manager or should I say most successful manager we have had for many a year its about time Shitsu actually showed some sort of ambition instead of the circus that seems to follow them around !

I've had time to reflect, here are my ratings now i've calmed down.
Wilson 4
Eccles 2
Rose 4
Fadz 3
Doyle 5
Bidwell 5
Allen 3
Sheaf 4
Waghorn 4
Gyokores 3
Godden 3

Hamer 5
Palmer 4
Dabo 4

Embarrasing. But according to Robins it's not the players fault, it's the fans.

Wilson - 6. Some decent saves but very lucky to stay one the pitch.
Eccles - 5. Not a WB and seems to be lacking confidence, causing him to be too slow making decisions
Bidwell - 7. Decent enough and got a few chances going forward.
Fadz - 6. OK.
Roe - 6. Ok as well.
Doyle - 7. Looked good. Played the ball out and had one cracking shot. Not really a test of how he'll cope under pressure though.
Sheaf - 6. Some poor passes but OK overall. Decision to take him off instead of Allen was bizarre.
Allen - 5. Energetic and chased, but had absolutely no impact on the game whatsoever.
Waghorn - 6. Tried to make stuff happen but the link up between the forwards was horrendous with misread runs etc.
Godden - 5. Basically on the pitch to score goals. If he doesn't get chances offers little.
Gyo - 6. Had a couple of runs at the defence but none looked likely to result in a decent chance. Didn't get any other opportunities either.

Palmer - 6. Looks like a decent player but need him playing regularly. Could be interesting if we see him next to CoH.
Dabo - 6. Got a lot of the ball after he came on but we didn't create a great deal.
Hamer - 6. Has more creativity but too many of is cross-field passes didn't work. Maybe needs to keep it simple a bit more.
Tavares - 6. Not given any time whatsoever.

I agree in one sense re Godden. However, the thing with him is even when he is not involved / playing well, he is the most likely to finish a chance. Imagine taking him off and then getting awarded a penalty. He is the only one I would trust to put it away.
