How can a budget that’s desperately needed to help the poorest be so weighted towards the richest.

Appalling and shameful governing.
I'll say this though, it can't be accused of being populist... surely?!?

Its completely bewildering during a cost of living crisis.

Giving free money to earners over £150k,
Attacking those on Universal Credit.

The Mail will be spinning like a ballerina but he's surely lost them the election with this?

First shots against unions too.
Got a feeling that’s going to backfire. The union’s have a pretty strong mandate before calling a strike and when members are voting in very sizeable majorities to strike of the back of that mandate it seems almost inevitable that token offers are going to be rejected in any ballot. Could actually strengthen the Unions position when repeated token offers repeatedly get rejected in a ballot. Don’t know for sure obviously but I can’t help but think that ultimately this will end up being embarrassing for the government. There’s a growing militant attitude towards the government in the working and indeed middle classes.

Government told to prepare for 'growth in homelessness'
The government has been told to prepare for a growth in homelessness after Mr Kwarteng delivered his mini-budget.
Polly Neate, CEO of Shelter, said:
The real growth this government should be ready for is a growth in homelessness.
The chancellor has done nothing to help the 2.5 million private renters who are already behind or constantly struggling to pay their rent. Cutting stamp duty won’t protect those at risk of losing their homes, but it will push up house prices.
Every day our helpline advisers answer calls from families on the brink of losing their home as they can no longer keep up with runaway rents or afford to eat. This mini-budget is not going to ease the terror families feel, with the chancellor leaving housing benefit frozen at 2020 levels.
The government has missed its shot today to prevent a rapid rise in homelessness. To keep people at the sharpest end of this crisis in their homes, housing benefit must be unfrozen now. Allowing homelessness to rise will cost the economy more and ruin countless lives.

People earning £1m to get £55k tax cut next year
This is quite a staggering figure from Torsten Bell, chief executive of think tank the Resolution Foundation.
It's based on the latest announcements in the chancellor's mini-budget.

She’s willing to do unpopular things To get this country back on track NW!

Fiscally incompetent things too, it would seem.

Other than as a vehicle for the insane, the inane, or the corrupt, what actually is the purpose of the Conservative party now?

It’s daft, if they don’t agree with the union’s position they’d vote against a strike anyway
That's true. As an aside, the minimum vote requirement allows for a manipulation of democracy, as if you're against a strike it's probably worth your while not to vote, than to vote against.

Kin ell. Grown man gets upset at people pointing out the immediate consequences of his actions so calls them unpatriotic. In other news a convicted wife beater who comes under criticism because of his behaviour accuses his critics of being anti marriage

The turnout requirement is much higher than you usually get for local elections which don’t have to be done by post. But what do you expect after 40 odd years of anti union laws being passed?

You know that book they all wrote “Britannia unchained”, was there a typo on the proof copy that they all missed and the title should have been Britannia Enchained? Even Tory back benches are saying that this budget is a disaster. The authors of that book are clueless, did people really take them seriously?

I picked a great time to plan a trip to the US. Maybe if I sell a house or two before I leave I can afford a meal there.
I’m in New York at the moment, it’s brutal with the Euro too.
Going to London next week so going to be taking advantage of the dollar to pound exchange rate, which is something at least.
