Yeah I know. No offence taken. Just been watching the footage he sent me. He was outside the hotel having a fag when the sirens started going so started recording. There was a flash in the sky and then a huge explosion, you can’t see the explosion but you can here it. He tells me the recording doesn’t do how load the explosion was justice, apparently his ears are still ringing. Not sure if there’s any military installations but the hotel he tells me is in a residential area so seems to be the deliberate targeting of civilians. Not that that in itself is news.

yes very much deranged for most (if not all) of it, I agree but mentions the American (west) was over sexualising things targeting children.
Putin has attacked Western society, claiming it is “satanic” and has rejected “moral norms”.
Addressing the annexation ceremony in Moscow, Russia’s president said the West had turned away from “traditional” and “religious” values.
He also asked assembled dignitaries if they wanted “children to be offered sex-change operations”, a practice he implied was widespread in Western states.
In his two decades in power, Putin has routinely promoted what he says are “traditional values” and suppressed LGBTQ rights.

All it does is create a new excuse for war in the future. Can use same excuse as Donbas and so Ukraine lives under permanent threat. Referenda can't be recognized as so many inhabitants weren't able to vote as have had to leave their zones.
If there was any doubt we are in another Cold War. There will be no reconciliation whilst Putin and his followers remain in power. Gets away with this then he'll retool, learn from his mistakes then start threatening other regions. Still his stated intent is to bring former Eastern bloc back under Russian control.

It was clearly aimed at declaring a culture war on “the West”, though he’s been doing that forever. He’s hoping there’ll be enough fear and opposition to stop us intervening.
Same reason Boosh is in the politics thread posting about Eddie Izzard while everyone’s concerns they can’t afford to live.
