I’d just like to say through all this;
A, It looks like we are going to play at the CBS for the foreseeable .
B, The atmosphere and togetherness between fans and players is better than ever.
C, We still have a good team and manager.
D, I just love seeing us score in that classic new home shirt, brings back memories of falling in love with the City in 1977.
E, Gonna get my Swansea tickets on order ASAP
Everything else is up in the air and I can’t have any influence over any of it as a mere fan so I guess what will be will be.

But to be completely debt free would mean he has either paid off or Joy has agreed to write off the £20 plus million they have injected since taking over since 2007.
Don't you mean the interest on short term cash loans and fees that have compounded since 2007?

I didn't think they have actually put anything in Net...although now im thinking of it maybe that's just in the last 10 years or something

Not recently for definite, but quite a bit was injected during the initial takeover and first few years. Plus reliably informed that another £4.5 million went in early this summer.

Probably raises the bar in terms of funding, but ultimately it benefits the efl/prem. Not the fans.

The whole thing stinks.

Did you watch Sunderland till I die? Funny but what a bunch of blaggers!

It’s very close to what happened with SISU. Run out of money but can’t afford to cash out so try and get investors to pump in more funds in exchange for a majority stake. Think Stewart Donald and ‘salmon pants’ Methven still retain small shares

DK intimated that Robins will be shopping in the January window - if this happens it will be the best Christmas present any of us get this year.
I’m trusting he is a man of his word and if he is I for one will raise a glass to the King!!
(See what I did there) 😉😉

My take on Doug King is he is either a sisu plant or an MA stooly you can take what he says either way. I just can’t see where he has the means to run a professional football club certainly at championship level apparently on his own. At the moment he is saying what fans want to hear. no sales, signings in the transfer window talk is cheap. Pie crust promises, easily made, easily broken.

My itk has been pretty accurate up to now so onto stage three now, be patient. I’m trying to find out if this Doug King is a curve ball or for real.

I'm gonna make you an offer, that cannot be ignored!
Ha, brilliant! He does REALLY look like him to me.

Still haven't caught up, but still think that the King stuff was a load of bullshit. Will obviously be happy if it wasn't, we keep good players, strengthen and get promoted, buuuutttt...nah, can't see it. Bet he never ends up as owner, and if so, lets see 25m spent on players in Jan! He's just another Hedge Fund Manager.

Ashley has bought what half a 'normal' football club is.
We now know through dk that sisu have no money. Which is presumanly why they couldn't meet the terms to bid for the stadium, which was to provide short term funding
And we know that the club is absolutely for sale.
And we know dk is heavily linked with sisu
I think this is just the club starting to negotiate the best deal with Ashley and trying to make out like they have other options

The only thing that doesn't make sense is why Hoffman and the rich energy guy were there, unless they are working with dk?? In which case, maybe they aren't giving up just yet!

If this is a genuine sale to King, hopefully he can at least stabilise things on cash front so we are selling from a position of strength (not for cash flow/desperate like Hyam sale) and any funds are reinvested back in team. Obviously I’m hoping we don’t have to sell at all but we’ve got to be realistic, there’s likely to be some big offers for certain players in Jan/summer and if it’s a step up for players in terms of wages and progression they’ll want to test themselves at a higher level

Ashley buying the stadium still offers an opportunity for club and stadium to come together in future though. I’ve never believed he has no interest in the club, however, I’m sure he’s got plans for the stadium/complex only in the meantime and will wait to see how things play out. A sale to say NEC, would’ve put that opportunity to bed for the foreseeable

If King doesn’t have the cash to help us progress then there’s an obvious out in future

I personally think we’re in a better all round now than 6-12 months ago but let’s see what Kings plans are…assuming they weren’t just ‘let’s scupper sale to Ashley’

Well if he really has £25 million cash ready to go, and he hasn’t put it into buying a stadium…

Good question.
From my Naivety

She would question his stewardship credentials

Business

She likes to control things
She doesn’t know or trust him

Why it might happen

Ashley has money and can give her some of it

On balance still think it’s unlikely

What she’d want more than most is to get lots of money at once which he can offer. Also not an obscure figure, very well known in the world of business.

It would be disappointing and as you say a huge missed opportunity if she were to cling on.

How the hell did a surveyor/agent value the arena in 2021 for 52 million and today it sells for 17. At the market value according to the judge

Surely someone needs to be investigated for this

If Sisu cant afford to fund the club going forward then the only thing getting in the way of a deal is pride and that she cant possibly control the price. If he can give her an out where she gets a bit of cash and her pride intact she will take it. If Sisu are not able to put more money in they need out before they suffer reputational harm which could affect their brand in the future as they run an investment business at the end of the day.

Spending £25milion on a business that might be profitable if differently run is a valid investment.

Spending £25 million on a few players in the hope that the team might get promoted is a different level of risk.

Not sure if this has been covered before and apologies if it has , what's stopping Mike Ashley now charging the club a much higher rent than what was agreed with wasps?

Aren't we then in a similar position as few years ago when £1.2m rent was being paid and that was unsustainable for the club hence looking elsewhere to play our football matches?

Whats getting me is weve heard fuck all about his plans for the team

All been a last minute pathetic attempt at getting the arena

Will MR be given money?
You say no one needs to be sold, in that case will you hand new contracts out to the big 4?
Will you attend every game?
Will you spruce Ryton up so its not 1980s style?
You claim to have £25 Million ready to go for the arena, can you commit some of that to the playing squad for the next few seasons?

Hes just been soundbutes and pacifying statements

Seen fuck all that makes me think hes anything more than, as Slowpoke put well, the different cheek of the same arse

He can’t change the lease that has already been agreed.
