McBurnie is very good, the narrative around him not being good enough the last few seasons was always misguided. Completely different skillset to Gyok but the difference is McBurnie needs a team playing a certain way to get the best out of him more than Gyok does. No other striker at this level can do what Gyok does.
I’ve quite liked the look of that bloke from Swansea, Joel Piroe?

Yeah, very good too - again completely different style of player (have a look at his goal map last season, beyond weird!).

Obviously BBD is good too & probably a bit more of an all around game to him as well.

Was really impressed with BBD this season. He’s not the player I thought he was…there’s a lot more to his game than I gave him credit for.
I’ll checkout Piroe’s goals.

Ironically another Swede, Amin Sarr at Heerenveen is a similar style. Not as effective as Gyok yet, only 21 & rough around the edges - less direct though I'd say, brings teammates into play too.
Not on his strike partner van Hooijdonk?

Watkins was one year into a five-year contract when he signed for Villa. Gyokeres can start negotiating a free transfer with teams in Europe in 13 months from now.
That's at least 2, maybe 3 windows from now, and it also assumes he would want to play abroad.

I think vik would absolutely destroy defenders in the SPL , be it for rangers or Celtic .. far more complete forward than morales IMO

Double page spread on Vik today in the Football League Paper (sorry can't upload as it's behind a paywall).
Could do without this exposure.

Yeah unless we manage to get promoted this season there's zero chance here's here next year. Just a question of whether it's January or the summer.

In fact even if we got promoted he probably still wouldn't be here, as that would mean he'd scored 20+ goals which would be enough for someone to spend big on him.

I think if he goes on to score another 10-15 we won’t have to worry much about a low fee in the summer. The problem for all parties is we hold out in January and he gets some serious injury.

It’s a very difficult binary choice to make.

January's the right time to sell him if the offer comes in, unfortunately. Unfortunately as it makes it unlikely we'd get the replacement in while we were at it.

Hopefully MR and AV have been aware of this possibility and have been scouting accordingly.

Thing is, prices and availability would not be in our favour. We might have to suck up doing without and getting the right person in the summer. As long as that happened, I could luve with that. As long as...

As a small aside, Scott Twine hasn't ripped up any trees at Burnley, so if O'Hare went in January, would he be worth a nibble, or is there a reason he hasn't?

I think he was injured when he went there. They also are stocked well for tricky little AM/forwards. I like him though, good player.

He was prolific for quite a while which made up for his red card addiction. Now it’s a red sauce addiction sadly
He was pretty decent for a bit but his attitude and professionalism clearly stinks. Can't see him getting that move across the border now, which let's face it, is the only reason anyone goes to play in the SPL.

The good news would be we’re almost certain to get a bidding war. The bad news is he’s irreplaceable at our level but without Godden for a long while yet we’d be left struggling up front. Hopefully the scouts have some players in mind but the front two at Heerenveen would be good targets

Think the best we could manage in January would be a loan to muddle us through to the summer, and sort it properly then.

I think the main reason used to be a very easy route to regular Champions League football. He has missed his chance for certain though.

Nobody in the SPL compares to Gyo anyway

What’s all this talk about Gyokeres leaving in January owner prospective new owner has said clearly no players are to be sold in January, don’t you believe him.
