We would be mad to sell him in January as he represents part of the chance to get promoted - they would be throwing away the opportunity ! To make a great deal more money

Agreed, no question, He started both of Sweden's recent international friendly wins. He played just over the hour against Mexico and 84 minutes in the 2-0 win over Algeria getting an assist. Should be on a beach somewhere by now. PUSB

No it's not. He said rangers were shit while they won league and made massive strides in Europe for a Scottish team aswell.

Then he admitted he supports Celtic and has never said a good word about rangers

Like shmee says it ruins any football talk for those that don't support a Scottish team on here

I was referring solely to your reply to David O'Day's post, which was "He's really not a good player, he's really fat and mostly a sub for the worst Rangers team in years." Allowing for a little exaggeration, that's hardly contentious stuff.

With Dougie's heavy pockets making cash flow a little better in January is there a chance we could offer new contracts to Vik, Gus & O'Hare?

I'm not mad enough to think all 3 of them wouldn't jump ship to Prem teams or even the likes of Burnley. But if we say to each of them you aren't going anywhere in January regardless. Then offer each a new contract on slightly better wages but include a promise that they can leave if a bigger team comes in with an appropriate offer in the summer if they still want to leave?

Keeping all 3 would massively boost the odds of sneaking playoffs but I'm just thinking that we if we could tie them in to longer contracts we would be protected in being able to maximize profits.

I remember when I looked at the leagues and saw Burnley in the wastelands. Little team with a bit of history.

If we want to challenge for top six or more we have to keep them until the summer, selling any they have to be replaced and newbies have to fit the system which is working straight away.

O’Hare signed a new deal Jan 7th in his second year, Hamer in March of his second year.

So you’d expect Vik to be offered one around now based on that.

If we have serious ambitions of getting promotion this season then he surely has to stay. If he is promised that if we don’t make it, he can leave in the summer, I think he would go for that.

It’s hard isn’t it for us to consider everything from the players perspective. I love yok and so long as we receive an inflated figure and get to reinvest in other players then thank you for the memories. If it’s anyone in the championship get lost and If it’s a forest get lost too
