Maton saying the council had no influence and is the same as a city fan.

Strange, would the council not have to be involved to transfer the lease?
Generally the Freeholder is consulted to make sure they have no viable objections
However the leaseholder does not have get any permissions so long as the new owner takes on the existing lease and covenants

It's then wait and see if any objections are forthcoming

It's only 10K to call an officer to account and require they provide evidence. Don't go digital and I'm sure if you got 10,000 signatures and gave it to Cllr Ridley or another Cov fan in CCC, they could ensure it got progressed. And make Duggins or Reeves the challenged, any action they take to close it down would be seen as wrongdoing.
ridley doesn't actually give a rats about city

The Council were orchestrating things before even the notice to appoint administrators that popped out during the Blackburn game on 2nd Nov.
They were dealing directly with NEC group and setting up a deal as late as 30th Oct, and were desperate to get it done to the point of offering indemnity if a deal was started and didn't go through. Not exactly sure what happened after that, But Ashley and MASH holdings seemed to appear.
Remember- all of this BEFORE notice to appoint administrators... so if the Council weren't dealing with it, who was??

NOI was 17th October, 2nd was when Ashley was announced as preferred bidder. It was confirmed there were several bids in that period and only NEC and FG stayed in after due dil.

wasn't Ashley and NOI on same day?.... 2nd Nov (could be wrong)
NEC still in the game on 30th Oct,
What I do know is CCC were orchestrating deals before this!!

Nope.

We know NEC were still in the game before Ashley was announced as preferred bidder. Then dropping out is what made him preferred bidder.

And we know CCC we’re trying to get bidders, there’s never been any question about that.

The question is did CCC in some way prejudice Ashley’s bid that meant he could outbid the others? I can’t see how but that’s what you’re supposed to be angry about now. Just so we’re all on the same page.

Reeves said about it in interview with Gilbert. Something about the buyer needing to meet 4 pillars.

regen, CCFC home. Was home and some thing else

He said he would block it if they didn’t agree new wording despite it being constitutionally permissible. He blocked it.
I sware they think they are all super smart and we are thick knob heads. It's basically keep beating around the bush until they get pissed off and leave.

He` didn't though did he, one of the tories tried to ask if it was blocked and was dragged off by the rest.

Stage managed political nonsense from a group of people who would of went with the money just like the current majority

He didn’t because they all walked out so he didn’t have to because there was no one present to propose and second the motion.

He shouldn’t have threatened it and seemingly he accepts that now. But he’s technically correct that it wasn’t blocked and technically correct is how these things work.

I know. I’m still unclear what your allegation is. Several people bid, two stuck around, one won.

Are you saying someone was stopped from bidding? I’m not sure what the relevance of the councils wishes for the arena are.

Because those wishes played a part in it, as said by Reeves.

Swain mentioned a full inquiry into the stadium sales and Maton wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. Started rambling on about everything and anything else. Is there a petition thing that when it gets to a certain number has to be debated with the council? I think every fan pretty much would welcome a proper inquiry into the councils behaviour.

A part in making decisions on who it was sold to. Which we know happened and have been through already.

They will have spoken to bidders obviously. But unless you’re claiming someone was stopped from bidding or a bid was somehow prejudiced I’m not sure what your point is.

We heard about all the bids at the court hearing. We know x number dropped out, and of those that didn’t Ashley’s bid was the best.

Incorrect, there were better bids. ;)

It was the 1.2m for exclusivity that meant it was picked.

Been a fair few years since I’ve posted on here, despite me still being a regular viewer.
However I couldn’t let the absurdity of this thread go by without comment!

A summary of this thread so far is this:

SBT - “The ruling council group should be held accountable for their involvement in the sale of the stadium”

Local opposition Tory councillors then try to hold the ruling group accountable.

SBT - “bastard Tories don’t care”

Seriously you lot, if you can’t put aside your political tribalism, or separate national politics from local politics then you don’t deserve an accountable council.

Often a long process Ombudsmen. I had a water tight case involving an insurance issue but took over a year to be heard and granted in my favour.

Doubt it would be covered anyway:

What we cannot investigate

The law does not allow us to investigate some issues. We cannot usually look at a complaint if:

  • you have left it more than 12 months since knowing about the problem
  • the matter has not affected you personally or caused you an injustice
  • the issue affects most people in the council's area
  • you have, or had, a right to appeal or take legal action and we think it is reasonable for you to have done so. This might be to:
    • a tribunal (such as the Housing Benefit Appeals Service)
    • a government minister (such as a planning appeal)
    • the courts
  • it is about personnel matters (such as your employment or disciplinary issues)
