Was shit today. But remember they beat the league leaders by a bigger margin a few weeks back.
Halfway point today and I'm pleased enough with where we are.
Can't really hope for much more without some investment, fingers crossed incomes in January.

That being said, Different game if peno goes in, Allen worst game I’ve seen him play - Palmer not good enough when he come on

One of those days

Players like Kelly and Waghorn are going to struggle to get contracts anywhere once they finish here.

We badly need a couple of players in that can make a positive difference off the bench the pair mentioned above are pointless.

Well, not a good day at the office, but tbf, I wasn't expecting much from this game, but the injury to O'hare along with the long term absence of Fadz could be a final blow to any playoff ambitions.
A few players got some mutch needed minutes, and hopefully MR will see that Allen isn't the answer and needs to be moved on / replaced ASAP.
Draw a line under this game, and move on to Cardiff.

Must be great being Fabio Tavares - you only have to run for five minutes a week and as long as you do a couple of stepovers and don’t literally shit yourself on the pitch you’ll still have people singing your praises and hailing you as the answer every week.

Not saying he's the answer by any means but he looked more threatening in 5 minutes than Allen did in 60.

He's worth 5 or 10 mins off the bench now and then.

Of all the people to single out after that performance I'd say Tavares is quite near the bottom of the list.

I was pointing out facts. When I posted that he had just given it away pointlessly with awful passes.

He'd also put in two decent crosses.
He gave us more quality from out wide than we've had for weeks, which admittedly isn't difficult.

One positive is that Dabo looked really sharp. Another is getting some needed minutes into the legs of Palmer, Kelly, Waghorn and Tavares.
Think we need to freshen it up a bit against Cardiff.

Yes but he was up against a team sitting on a 3 goal lead and then with 10 men. The role he's being asked to play is completely different from what Allen is doing, it's a pointless comparison really.
I do think he looked ok mind you but only in the above context.

They’re a solid side to be fair but thought we made them look like world beaters! I actually though they had an off day and if it’s not for a brilliant last ditch tackle or a penalty miss could be a different game

Nice to see they’re still dirty bastards as they always have been going in hard on COH after about 12 seconds though:rolleyes:

Just hoping Moore has a good game in the cup so it gives Robins a reason to get him back in.

I don't think it entirely inappropriate at this moment to draw upon memories of previous boxing day encounters against Shef U at the lane and recall 1991 - I was at the time in a long(ish) relationship with a lass from Barnsley and we were up there for Xmas and vising her parents.
It would have been rude not to have taken the short trip, so we did - And very rewarding it was.
That's all.

So frustrating. COH injury. Missing a pen that could change the game. Not capatlsing on the red. And some players who look like they had a holly jolly Christmas yesterday

Oh let me have my fun

We got 10 minutes of Tavares today (against ten men) and got absolutely nothing - funny really, considering all the people on here baying for him to come on, I thought we’d get one goal at least.

They didn’t? Did elbow Hamer in the face after five seconds though so point stands.

Tavares looked good? What did he do? Ran a bit?

That alone is more than most of our substitutions have done all season.

He did well though. Beat his man a couple of times. Great ball into the box on his left. He actually offers pace and clearly scares the opposition.

Not sure why Tav didn't come on for a CB as soon as they went down to 10
