1. Why are there empty seats there recently? Always used to be the first place to fill up.

2. As a ST holder for another seat in the stand is there anything stopping me from going to that block and finding a space? Usually go with family but they're not around Sunday so fancy going somewhere a bit more lively.

Imagine if Boddy rocked up to a meeting with the safety group and took some of the suggestions on here. Storm in, tell them to fuck off and that we are going to have designated blocks for people who wanted to take class As at games

I don't think we have a lot of choice in that. I doubt that the club are voluntarily paying out for a larger police presence than they have to. Some of the things that are done like that stupid fence defy all logic but what can we do

We have very little push back on this because people, particularly in that corner, are incapable of behaving themselves. We've had issues with overcrowding, people standing in walkways, people refusing to sit in the right seat, persistent standing, people trying to get across no mans land to the away supporters, smoke bombs being thrown, pitch invasions, underage drinkers and open drug taking

What is Boddy supposed to say at any meeting with the authorities that will negate all that? the easiest way to get the restrictions removed is to have no trouble

Not sure there would be a complaints procedure as such but it would all be down to the SAG so the club would get their chase to have a say at that. Although my experience of event licensing is that councils are very much you do what we say or you don’t get a license

If it's overcrowded and the demand is there, they shouldn't have closed Block 13.

We aren't the only club with poor behaving fans. The way we deal with it seems to be inconsistent and makes matters worse.

I'd then make the Telegraph stand cheaper. Even at £1-2 less than the rest of the ground, it would be more appealing to younger fans and would fill it out a little more evenly.

I'd then also block off the front 2 rows of every stand and encourage fans to use it as a section to put flags up. Makes it more difficult to get in the pitch and makes it look a little more full.

As much as I think that’s a good idea , I’m pretty sure the safety people and the WMP wouldn’t let them open block 13 - as they forced them to put netting over it last season when it wasn’t even open to buy tickets in

It depends on the time of year. Both north and east stand views suffer from the sun at certain times and it also depends how high in the stand you sit.
Every stadium will have this problem to some degree.

The standing all game has spread into and down Block 16. I now struggle to see the game because I’m unable to stand For 45 minutes. At half time there is a steady stream of people coming across my row in block 16 heading up into the corner area. My ticket is checked coming up to my seat at start of the game but no one stops the half time migration into the corner that I can see. I’m contemplating moving next season but I don’t want to because I like the singing and atmosphere in 16 and it’s where I have sat since we moved to the Ricoh. But I can’t stand for 45 minutes straight. It’s actually been making me feel pretty fed up.

It’s very lucrative for the police to paint a war zone picture in that corner. Yes there are some problems but the exaggeration to the right people gets them some nice easy highly paid overtime generally .

With respect to WPM I think they are a bit over zealous with how they police games at times and as a result the club have to be seen to be matching their outlook on such matters or risk looking like class A and hooligan sympathisers.

It seems like the more and more safety measures they put in like closing blocks, netting and the fence the worse the problems get.

As if it's giving those wanting to act hard even more confidence to do so because they're nice and safe behind all those protective measures. Put the people they're trying to antagonise right next to them and most wouldn't say a word.

But you'd have to be a brave person to suggest less measures given the problems. And there'd still be a handful of coked up idiots stupid enough to carry on.

maybe they need to be lenient up until the point where someone causes trouble and absolutely throw the book at each and every one of them - fines, criminal conviction, jail and a lifetime ban. No exceptions.
