I'd cash in Vik this transfer window, find someone as a temporary replacement or buy some hot talent from league one, the squad needs an overhaul which can be done in the summer.

We slow our own progress by offering new contracts to new players who don't deserve them, Jones, Allen, Wilson etc.

At least you know how much we have to spend if we sell him now.

Otherwise, Robins will be making figures up until the summer and can't fully plan.

Imagine if he gets injured. £20m of players gone to waste, including O'Hare.

Don't worry, Robins says we have players back in training next week. Walker will be like a new signing.
and this time when they return from injury they'll be under a spell that stops them getting injured in the future.

His value will plummet in the summer too, be lucky to get 10 mill.

Wasn’t there someone claiming Dabo was worth £10m not too long ago?
Unless he has a business on the side worth £9,999,999 I reckon that is a bit off.

I've said it before, but this situation has been 2 transfer windows in the making.
Now that might not be on King, but realistically the only chance he's got to affect improvement in the next 6 or 7 months is to allow Robins to recruit in the next 11 days.

If he doesnt then were going to be in big trouble next season unless we have a spctacular summer window.

Anything else, offices in Ryton, being hands on etc is just bluster.

We need championship quality reinforcements now.

This is correct.

My concern is that we've just handed out two ridiculously long contracts to players I'm not that sure about, and the two players we have brought in (admittedly very early) look raw.

Even if King gives us some money, we have to spend it properly. Looking at how much deadwood we have got in the squad, and the decisions we are making, my concern is that we won't. As you say though, this has been a long time coming. It goes back a couple of windows.

Keep him until the summer and then he’ll go. This whole squad needs a makeover. We can probably think of 10 players that need to go.

Resigning our shit keeper did not help. Now we have two keepers both under contract past the summer. If no1 wants to take Moore we are fucked

Doug was announced in November. Although the confirmation took a lot longer than hoped, surely Robins should have had a plan together? We were 2 points off the play offs with a game in hand when Doug took over. The aim should have been additions ASAP I'm January to push for it.

Surely Robins should have had a list of 4/5 ready to go for the moment it was confirmed. He had months to plan for multiple scenarios.

Then O'Hare got injured and it fucked us.

We’ll be fine

we’ve got bodies coming back

Eccles is our best right and fadz is massive

should have 4 more players on the bench next week couple new signings

We are shite at the moment though

Besides a complete collapse, that's the season over in January.

Should we cash in on Vik now and begin the rebuild rather than plod along until June? Or do we keep him because of the risk of relegation?
We need to keep him to make sure we stay up imo. Sell him now and I think that would send us down or very close to.

But what's the point of keeping him? Unless no one actually wants to pay the £10m+?

Thing is we rate him at x amount, but he's not a great finisher which would matter in the Prem. How many 1v1s has he squandered this season alone?

I’d there is any finance or interest in a rebuild in the summer I’d like a fresh start with a new manager. I think MR has done his time, looks like he’s lost love for the job

Have you hit your head?

Hopefully this "fresh takeover" gives him the support he rightly deserves.

So our best right back is a midfielder whose started 16 league games abs is made of glass

wow it’s not so bad after all

Fits the King/Robins agenda.

Incremental progression year on year, keep what we have and build on it.

High mid table side.

We will finish between 12-7 this year. Which is pretty good compared with the money bags premiership rejects and their parachute payments.

Next year hopefully higher and with touching distance of the play offs

It’s really frustrating. I get that fans don’t want their side to sell their best players, but look at the bigger picture. If it means we can bring in 3-4 to improve the overall quality then do it.

And it’s a myth you need a 20 goal a season striker. Spread the goals throughout the team.

I’m pretty worried about the rest of the season, although we scored two today (Norwich we’re pretty generous), I don’t know where our goals will come from, and currently we can’t keep clean sheets so won’t be scraping many 1-0’s. If we can get a decent fee for Vik I would be tempted, as he may be at his premium value just now, and there may be a couple of struggling Premier teams desperate to take a punt at a decent price. We’d need some of the funds to reinvest, but we may not lose much in goal scoring potential, as we have very little at the moment in any case.

If we want to get any decent money for Vik we need to teach him to pass.the ball. I don't mind strikers being greedy but it's a team game and he wastes chances by trying to do everything himself.
