As my friend often says, a lot of these youngsters have every skill in the world but they haven't learnt how to play football.

Are we all agreed that Burroughs did nothing to deserve being dropped, played well and Eccles looked sharp last night?

Norton-Cuffy is pants. I cant figure out what he does thats any good? He cant go past a man, cant cross, and hes as strong in the tackle as a Jamie Allen long range effort.

Dabo is a liability also.

Would we be happy going into next season with Burroughs and Eccles as RWB or should we prioritise a brand new first choice player for that place?

RWB is a specialised position, Eccles and Burroughs are midfielders.

It’s the robins way. 5 defenders 3 DMs and hope one AM and one ST can break them down.
It’s a far cry from the high intensity pressing game we got used to last season, 20+ shots on goal, our biggest gripe was the inability to convert a fraction of what we created. Robins seems to have lost his bottle somewhat and we’re going out there to not lose every week, for him to then come on air and tell everyone how much better they are than us.

I think losing Hyam and not being able to add the wingbacks in the summer really set his plans back. Our biggest issue has been defence and GK meaning we can’t play as freely as they need the midfield protecting them. It’s also why I’m confident of an uptick in form once Fadz is back. If we hadn’t lost him I think we’d have 9/10 more points than we’ve got now and be clear playoff contenders.

Norton-cuffey. It’s potential
He’s not as fast as I thought but he’s not slow
His control is sound
Assits, goals and tackles and passes etc is how it manifests on the pitch
Rotherham loved him give him time

The Rotherham manager didn’t love him and fans views were mixed

Most of our fans were in love with Panzo until a few seems ago

Seems he was deemed not good enough for Rotherham towards the end of his loan spell, despite what the fans thought of him.

Wouldn’t write him off just yet like to see him in a more settled team first, but he needs to up his game. Same with the other loanee at LWB.

I think Wilson-Esbrand will play a lot more when up to speed. Robins might start to write off Bidwell, seeing as he had a medical at Brum, only for the chain to collapse with the AFC Wim LB, and will likely go there in the summer once DaSilva has signed.

That was literally just twitter talk no?

I'd be amazed if Bidwell got as far as a medical. He's our only contracted LWB, has been a consistent performer this season and is our only fit, experienced defender right now. To have even considered it seems like defensive suicide given the untested nature of the temporary replacements.

It's true though

If we think about a general deadline day transfer that would be dependent on other transfers, then a medical would have to be done, wouldn't it? Can't rush a medical through five minutes before the deadline.

Might explain why Bidwell was so awful in the first half on Friday, that would probably mess with your mindset a bit.

And if true would suggest Robins is looking to return to using having much more attacking wingbacks.

If it’s true about Bidwell, it must be due to trying cut down the wage bill.
By the sounds of it, more like getting a younger version of him in, and keeping the ex Chelsea yoof quota up.

But he's been poor for us thus far. That cannot be denied.

Hopefully he' settle in and start playing well for us in the coming weeks, but he needs to improve significantly to warrant a place in the team.

A slow day today so I looked through the stats for all of our wing backs that have started 4 games, as that just includes BNC and Burroughs.
These are just stats and not always a true reflection on a performance, as we all know a lot of work is done off the ball. Also players that pass backwards/sideways and are less adventurous going forward may score higher as they don't lose possession.
I only included their first 4 starts this season.
In order they are:
Josh 6.95
Jack 6.75
Jake 6.67
Fanky 6.5
Brooke 6.12

The only time the top two started together was away at Watford.

Any reason you've only included 4 games for each of them?
