I absolutely agree with you, Ian. My point is that we, the public, don't need to be told whether the police are investigating it as a hate crime or not. Investigate it as a killing and it should be for the court to decide whether it was motivated by what is defined as hate, and apply the appropriate tariff when sentencing.
It's part of the media's attempt to make people feel that something is being done on a higher level because she was trans, i think, and the constant "thirst for knowledge" that has arisen in the age of social media.
I don’t really agree - I haven’t seen anything from the media coverage to suggest this crime was somehow worse than any other child murder. (Some trans people online have even claimed this story has had LESS coverage than other similar crimes - I don’t know if that’s true) Plus I think it’s only natural for people to want to know the details (and therefore the possible motivations) of a shocking case like this one. Just as people seeing reports of a terror attack etc want to know the reasons why.

I also think that when it comes to a group that is so disproportionately exposed to violence and discrimination as the trans community, many trans people actively want there to be more discussion of that, in the hope that people will have a better of understanding of the problems they face. Even if that’s not a factor in this case - and it would be wrong to be too definitive when speculating about it - it’s still a reality in the world we live in.

To be fair to Offenham there was another 16 yo killed last weekend that’s had virtually no coverage and certainly not candlelit vigils across the country. This is the first trans murder victim in over a decade in the U.K. so was always going to gain attention. Not to mention it being a very live debate right now with the GRR Bill.

And as I have always said everyone should do what is best for them. But 100% payrise after just 5 years in times of low inflation and complaining that the payrise wasn't enough is a bit too much.

I paid over 40k in income tax last year. Just like I usually do. And some expect me to pay more so they can have more than a 100% payrise after just 5 Years. Never mind. Just 4 more weeks of paying for the entititled.

If you paid that much it means you earn £125k plus a year

Your earnings are easily high enough to retire early. You will have a pension that most can only dream of. But can you live a frugal life and save every penny and invest it?

I saved every penny I could for many years. No exotic holidays. Always drove older cars. My present one is 15 years old. The wife's car is 16 years old. My phone will do until it stops working. And another big help is the house we're presently buying. In the UK it would be about 300k in the cheapest areas yet only €88,000. One room alone is 68m2.

68m2? Is it an old school house?

Your tax pays for nothing, it's a complete myth. The government spend first tax second. FACT.

The M6 at night, especially when driving back from a midweek game. J15-16 closed last night so had to take a detour through Stoke, Alsager and Sandbach

I don’t think it’s typical, just saying you can cherry pick to show anything. Public sector wages on the whole haven’t kept pace with private sector.
Won't be much in it. Been getting between 1% and 2% for years. This one we have been offered 6% and our union has advised us to accept it. But if we were public sector they would advise us to not accept.

People taking wank photos of stuff on their phone that they’re never going to look at again, but insist on doing it.

At an art gallery today (not my normal vibe btw) and people taking photos of exhibits. If you want a photo of it, go on fucking google? You’re here to see it in person. Flashes and stuff too in low light exhibits fucking it up for everyone else.

Same as at football games or concerts. If you want to see a video of it go online there will be a much better video than the shit you’re taking? Just live in the moment people for fuck sake

The insane increase in the amount of junk emails hitting my Outlook inbox over the last week. Have seen a few other people complaining about the same thing online, it's becoming nigh on unusable
Agree. Had a day off Friday came in Monday had 150 emails. About 50 of them were shit

The roundabout by The shepherd that goes between the Tamworth road, Keresley green road and the scotchill . The amount of cars coming up from the scotchill that think they have the right of way into the Tamworth road is crazy

The sort of round about on the A5 brings out a special kind of idiot the amount of people that slam their brakes on when they are going ahead to allow people from the right when they have no right of way.
