On Paper a decent run in

few players out injured
small squad
good defence
best forward in the league

i think we will finish 8th and miss out , but beat last seasons points total

currently 1 point better off than after 35 games last season

take into consideration weve played almost all the best sides twice already

I'm a bit gutted that we are going into these next games with the squad down to what it is.....
I'd actually be quite excited if we had Sheaf/Palmer/Allen available ....let alone OHare.....
But this great win teases us that little bit more.....
Above players fit - 5th/6th
Realistically with current availability and games running out, 10th..

I think we will just fall short by a couple of points, it would be great to still be in with a chance with a couple of games left.

Our recent form is phenomenal, and we've clearly got a bit of momentum even with a lot of players out injured.

This season is weird though, there's so many teams fighting it out. One extra win here or there could move you about three places higher. It's very tight.

I think we'll finish top 10 now, but getting a top 6 is going to take something very special. Let's see.

6/7 points in the next 3 matches should consolidate a play off push. Matches aren’t won on paper but they are dream fixtures.

Need to win 6 of these
4 home, 4 away
Hull (H)
Wigan (A)
Blackpool (A)
Stoke (H)
Swansea (A)
QPR (A)
Reading (H)
Birmingham (H)

Plus probably need 4 points from these 3
Watford (H)
Blackburn (A)
Middlesboro (A)

Can be done but difficult.
Would have an outside chance on 72 points but in reality probably need at least 74

What I would say about our form is its been almost season long as a whole with a small blip at the start and after the WC ..this is the last 30 games and 25 , we've been good for a while overall Screenshot_20230304_213907_Flashscore.jpg

Second image is mad; reminds you we had 1 point after five games. Incredible progress since.

I think we'll end on 70 points. Don't think that'll be enough unless a team above us collapses.

Edit: ran the numbers, and our PPG over the last 30 games would leave us on 71 points.

If we are going to catch anyone Luton looks the most likely.
They play Sheff U, Sunderland, Watford, Millwall, and Middlesboro.
Watford and Millwall have easier run-ins though

Sunderland’s next four are:
Norwich (A)
Sheff Utd (H)
Luton (H)
Burnley (A)
If they roll over for Luton I’ll be pissed for the next 50 years

I still think we can make top 6. Yes we have injuries but most clubs do at this time of the season.

We still have most of the bottom teams to play. We've just had a supposed hard game against a side near the bottom as it was away. Ended up not too difficult.

Teams near the top have harder games against each other. Lots of points to be dropped. Could end up being a lower than usual amount of points than usual to get into the top 6.

The form we are in we should be looking to try and catch Middlesbrough who are eight points ahead, catch them there’s a chance of catching Sheffield United who are rocking a bit at the moment and still in the FA cup. Prospect of catching ‘Boro isn’t as far fetched as we think & we play them last game of the season.
Our squad is a bit threadbare at the minute and we can’t take many more injuries but it has proved we can withstand them as it showed yesterday four teenagers in the squad, all played a significant part in the 4-0 drubbing of Huddersfield, Eccles is like a veteran now. All games in this division are tough and In form Hull a real toughie, win that could be a real spring board imo.

Unless they can find a massive upturn in performance / results they are going to be out of contention by then.
Wins against Norwich and Luton would be good, can't see it though on current performance but you never know.

I’d go so far as to say they’re gone now, big defeat by ex-manager will knock the young lads they have, no cf, Mogga in charge, Feb/March collapse……..….defo gone now hahaha

They had a good win yesterday but prior to that they hadn't won in a month.
Mustn't underestimate them but they are nothing to be afraid of

I think we'll finish 7th or 8th, which is great and something I think most of us would have taken at the start of the year.

The only annoyance would be if we finish with the league's top scorer and golden glove winner it would feel like we've fallen short.

We finish with the top scorer and golden glove winner will be a fantastic achievement with what we've had to endure this season
Despite our league position ,this season has been a resounding success
Wasps and Sisu gone , Vik, Gus CoH still here , the best manager in the league looking as though he's really enjoying himself, academy players coming through and the best fans in the league. We could finish 12th and I wouldn't complain

4 games ago we were probably looking at 30 points from the remaining 15 matches - so 10 points from each block of 5.

Hull will be the final match from the first block of 5, we've picked up 10 points from the first 4. Next block of 5, after Hull, are probably the easiest on paper - so a very good start overall.

Don’t know about everyone else but I’ve already started having anxious flashbacks to the Swansea home game and its potential to fuck us over on the last day of the season.
