Match of the day last night was the best one in years no silly in jokes, no fake outrage just the action long may it continue. But it won’t the BBC will capitulate to these overpaid Twitter celebrities.
It was shit, stop lying to yourself.

It wasn't even very well put together action either.

Why is it people don’t realise that the Nazi’s didn’t get in and go straight to genocide and invasion of other countries. It started with language and raising paranoia and hysteria. It was six years before WW2 started and the extermination camps didn’t start until 1942. The language was around for six years, six years of brainwashing, six years of conditioning, six years of desensitising and legitimising a mind set before the Nazis had the fully compliant country they wanted. It seems our country isn’t as naive as the German population was after WW1 to think that hatred is an answer.

We are not heading down the same road as the Nazi's because will have a Labour government in two years time.

You'd hope most people would see through the Government rhetoric, and realise they are planting the seeds of a dictatorship.
We have the right to protest and strike curtailed in the new Policing Bill and security bill, they are trying to demonise the unions for fighting for better pay for the low paid, they're trying to turn everyone against refugees and asylum seekers, the 'stop the boats' catchphrase is all bollocks to deflect away from the awful shitshow we are in due to corruption and cronyism from the Tories.
Lineker is right, it IS the same language and mind set the Nazis used.

Lineker’s tweet was about the language being used by the likes of incompetent far right lunatic Suella ‘invaders’ Braverman to dehumanise people and the dangers of where that leads. She already said ‘I very much understand people’s frustrations’ following violent right wing protests outside a hotel housing asylum seekers.
The focus should be on Braverman and the extremists in this government who Sunak has appointed to senior positions to prop up his political position.

the only hypocrites are wright, scott etc. Poor pundits with an even poorer moral compass

So the BBC, apart from this incident, are completely impartial and not under the sway or the pay of any political party?

What's wrong with being an economic migrant? God forbid people coming over here, fulfilling the gaping labour shortages and contributing to the economy

Where did he say "we're Nazis for stopping the boats"?

I'd just like to caveat this by explaining I am by no means Linekars biggest fan.
Nothing wrong with being an economic migrant. My Dad (mixed race Anglo Indian from India) was.

What is wrong is jumping the queue. Millions of law abiding folks want to come to the U.K. and diligently apply each year. We can’t accept all, so a system is in place which filters out those with à criminal background and lack of necessary skills.

Millions from the U.K. want to live in the USA, Canada, Aus. We don’t just rock up and presume to settle. It’s 2023

I had to be screened to visit family in India last month.

Come to the U.K. send your CV and background check first. Don’t cheat the system. You are not escaping tyranny when you board from France.

If only the filter system worked, most people wouldn't even care about migrants, but who is in charge of making those systems work?? the Government or more specifically that bitch Braverman, who wouldn't get in now if her rules were applied, she really is a 'reverse racist'who seems to hate everyone

Exactly, Tony. It is the climate the Tories are creating, a classic 'them' and 'us' situation....'they come in their boats...which means you won't be able to get a doctors appointment....won't get housing....', etc.

The language used by Braverman such as "invasion" is lapped up by right-winfgracists. The BBC has been put under the heel of the current government; you only have to look at who's in charge to see that. Only have to listen to how Fiona Bruce and Laura Kuenesberg push the Tory agenda week in, week out to realise the BBC is on its knees.

Good on Gary Lineker I say. Hope he tells the BBC to fuck off.

He didn't make a comparison between the two. Not sure how people still can't grasp this?
This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the '30s, and I'm out of order?"
Sounds like a comparison to me !

He said the language used by Braverman was similar to the language used in 1930s Germany. You've just posted it.

He did not compare Britain to nazi Germany.

Not even semantics, he's talking about Bravermans language, its clear as crystal.
And regardless, if Neil, Sugar and others had been censored for their political comments I'd have no problem with the sme happening to Lineker, but they weren't.

yes he’s comparing her language to the National Socialists - I wonder why? He also didn’t seem to cite any actual comparisons - I mean I’m sure he wasn’t trying to at all link the government to the Nazi party - I’m sure anyone who makes that comparison is really doing Gary a disservice

Today the shadow chancellor said his words wouldn’t have been what she would have said

Why on earth not?
