Watched the Banshees and thought it was just about ok, although my other half thought it was rubbish. I liked the acting, and the slow burn, but thought the overall story was garbage.

In Bruges was way way better, Banshees not even in the same universe…
We can also thank In Bruges for one of the biggest meltdowns ever on GMK.

I know smiles was small, but….

If you want a very slow, leisurely watch to fill some time, have a look at Travels by Narrowboat on Prime. Strangely engaging.

Sure a lot have already seen it but I just finished it recently so gonna recommend.

'Man in the High Castle' on Prime. Excellent show.

Think HBO should’ve left TLOU. Leave it be as a video game.

96% on rotten tomatoes seems pretty unbelievable.

Been attempting a few light hearted, short episode type series to watch with the partner recently:

Extraordinary (Apple TV) - really enjoyed it. A few missed jokes, but overall got enough solid chuckles from me and the characters (well three of the four main ones) are pretty engaging too. Quite dry humour at times and good comedic exchanges too.

The Afterparty (Apple TV) - only 4 episodes in, but enjoying it so far. Murder mystery premise so it maintains a “serious” overarching piece (i.e. who did it) but some good comedic dialogue at times, albeit Americanised comedy esque. Can tell it’s by the same people as 21 Jump Street - but I don’t mind that comedy.

Starstruck (iPlayer) - watched about 10 minutes and had to turn off as my partner found the female lead too annoying. I got it tbf.

Ghosts (iPlayer) - latest season (not so new now) but good harmless fun. Not stacked with laughs but certainly enough and an interesting premise regardless.

I also watched:

Ladhood (iPlayer) - really enjoyed it. Certain type of humour, some of which is very dry and very British, but all good.

None of the above are particularly quote worthy, Office/Partridge/Peep Show levels, but all worth a watch if looking for something light heartened alongside whatever more “serious” show you are watching.

We really liked Extraordinary too

Just finished The Bear on Disney+

It's got rave reviews, and it's brilliant. Is chaotic and claustrophobic at times. And a really great ending.

Season 2 coming in the summer.

Season 1 was great, but after that it was awful. A lot of time I'll never get back.

Ladhood is brilliant, would highly recommend as well.

"Mo" is a great comedy drama on Netflix.

Just finished a Polish drama called "Hold Tight" on Netflix, that wasn't bad.

Probably been mentioned, but the Lincoln Lawyer based on Michael Connelly's book is excellent.

If anyone watches Anime, I enjoyed "Kotaro Lives Alone" on Netflix.

Totally concur with this.
Fair enough gents,I loved the book so maybe why I enjoyed it more?

Anyway hope some more of his novels get turned into shows.

Next Tuesday at 8pm on yesterday The Architecture The Railways Built is about Coventry Station. It's years since I've been to Coventry Station & when I first started watching CCFC in the 70s I used to get the train from Rugby. Looks like the station has had some undergone some major redevelopment so it will be interesting to see how it's changed.

As an infrequent visitor ( except to any home of the sky blues) it always seemed difficult to find the entrance in a car 😮 when I first got an interview to work in Coventry I was put up in the Falcon ? Hotel just behind the station - never got further than the station to have a look around at that time - when they developed the roundabout a few years ago was impossible to follow the signs

I've really enjoyed Shrinking on Apple TV, bit of a slow burn but well worth sticking with. Fingers crossed for a season 2

Dear Edward is decent as well but not really sure how long they can keep that going. Kind of feels like there's not really much more story in it after 10 episodes

Just watched that 3 part WACO documentary on Netflix. Worth a watch Id say. I thought I remembered it well but didn’t think the siege went on as long as it did.
It was a right royal fuck up from start to finish.

Really interesting/scary to hear survivors talking and how the negotiations were ‘managed’.

Apparently there’s also a good doc on bbc about it. I’ll have a look.

Been binging Yellowstone, fucking brilliant it's the Godfather and Sopranos with cowboy hats on. (the Sopranos is of course the datum all tv series must be measured against).
Well worth watching if you have Paramount Plus.

I just finished Bad Sisters on Apple.

Has to be one of the best on-screen baddies ever I reckon.

I was saying to the missus it’s the type of performance where the actor gets treated like shit in real life because everyone has a visceral hatred for the character.

How did Nate Shelley get a premier league job with no experience? Also Jamie Tartt is clearly their best player but he gets very little air time on the documentary. He should’ve taken the penalty to get them promoted.

Just finished watching 'A Town Called Malice' mainly for the 80's music, was more light hearted than really sinister, but a very dysfunctional London criminal family
