Yep, not squaring it to Hamer who’s was in on goal and instead shooting from 35 yards was criminal. Very good individual, awful team player.

Second highest assists in the league…

I mean I agree, but we can’t really claim he doesn’t create. He should be well past 30 goal involvements so far.

Awfuls a bit harsh. He’s very much head down pace and power in possession but some decision making obviously needs to be improved upon…although you could say the same for a lot of our players in the final third.

Agree he should’ve passed to hamer but it’s hardly as if he was getting chances galore from colleagues, fouled ever time he turned a defender so probably frustrated and thought ‘fuck it, I’ll have a dig’. Wrong call obviously. Plenty of assists* over season proves he’s a team player and he’s also the one taking 2-3 defenders attention every game. Others should be making more of that

*bet there’s been numerous misses from his set ups as well, off the top of my head, I think allen and palmer bother missed sitters earlier in season

Vik seems incapable of adapting his game. He has been tightly and well marked in the last 2 home games against Stoke and Watford, but he still tries to roll the defender and take on everyone from there. If he released the ball more we'd be more potent. I love him, but I think he's got a little big headed recently. Starting to think 15million and Robins gets 7-8 million to rebuild in the summer may work out better for us. We could get a top class centre forward, centre back and right wing back + more with that cash. Add to that the freeing up of wages from the inevitable release of Waghorn, Walker, Dabo and Kelly.

Not completely disagreeing with you, but when you say a 'top class centre forward', can you give me an example. They're not exactly 10 a penny, which is why I expect us to get more than £15m for Gyokeres in the Summer. Replacing him will be far more difficult than a lot of our supporters seem to realise.

We'll never replace him, best we can hope for is get two or three players in to keep us the same strength as a team, but spread the injury risk around a bit!

We got lucky with Gyokores, it won't be easy to repeat it again. Just hope our scouts can find another rough diamond 💎.

It will probably be a complete change of tactics, maybe with a true no. 9 when Vik leaves.
Vik normally now has 2/3 men on him which creates space for others. Although he has those assists we should be scoring more goals.

Would be nice to have a couples of fast wingers around Gyokeres and play a 433. Think we'd tear it up with the right personnel in that formation.

Just been thinking a bit more about this and the thought of something like the below has given me a bit of a hard on, even though I'm resigned to Gyokeres leaving. A couple of jack Clarke like (prince range i know but of a similar ilk) wingers flying up the pitch to support him on the break with O'Hare and Hamer would terrify any team.

GK
NewRB McNally newCB Bidwell
O'Hare Sheaf Hamer
RW Gyok LW

O'Hare in CM would get bullied like a fat kid in secondary school
