Hamer was absolute class today. That guy has some energy . Great asset !
He was wasn't he.
They were shit scared of him, he battled for every ball ran on every blade of grass and as for the goal just never gave up.
All in all 10 / 10 from me.

Hamer was always going to win. Better form at the time of the vote and is liked more as a person by the fans which counts a lot for this sort of thing. Don’t think people like Gyokeres that much, as evidenced by the penalty thread yesterday.

I’d have given it Gyokeres every day of the week though. Best player to have played for us since I started going and is the main reason we’re in the play-offs at the moment. The amount of games he won for us single-handed earlier in the season was ridiculous.

Hamer has had a brilliant season and should have been in the EFL TOTS, but he’s not been better than Gyokeres.

I voted Hamer, I was torn between him and Wilson to be honest. Gyok would have been my 3rd choice. He has had a quality season but so has many others in the team. I just think Gus since coming back from that second red card has been absolutely immense and gone up a level and has been absolutely unplayable

For me, and I know we’ve had the odd stand out in the lower leagues (Maddison, Armstrong etc), but I think Viktor even though he’s far from the finished article, and he does sometimes make the wrong decisions and misses chances, he’s the best player we’ve had since relegation from the prem, certainly that I’ve seen live.
power, strength, pace, control, work rate… I try to stress to my kids enjoy watching him play for us as he won’t be here forever…

but then saying that, in terms of pure ability Hamer and Vik possibly not much in it - the position and thus return in terms of goals will clearly favour a striker. But what a combo to have in the team.

That's just human nature though, recency bias & ultimately a popularity contest both in terms of personality but also the type of player you enjoy watching.

Ultimately, the one that means the most to a player is the recognition from their peers so I don't think Vik will be too disappointed having got Players Player of the Year.

If Fulham really offered £5m for Hamer it’s criminal we didn’t take it. If a premier league club offered that why on earth did we think he was worth more.
Why don't you put him in the taxi you keep calling for Robins? And if you're going to get rid of everything good why not put Gyokeres in as well.

And you have the nerve to make out you know something about football 😁

I'm so on the fence with this one. I love Hamer, he's pure class, but when did we last have striker with 20+ goals and 10+ assists. Over 30 goal contributions for the season, that's why vik got my vote.

In your opinion. Hamer for me is our best player by a mile. Quite rightly gyokeres gets plaudits but hamer makes the team work. When he was suspended the team changed to being more defensive to grind out results.

I'm not going to disagree with anyone between the two as I can't separate them.

Yes Gyokeres has scored and set up lots. But the Hamer contribution with goals and assists is also very good. Put that with him making us tick and doing most of the work on some of the goals Gyokeres has scored without having the assist as well.

Some mention about Hamer not always having a good game. For balance how about the amount of games Gyokeres has had good chances but missed.

When Gyokeres scores we rarely lose. When Hamer runs the show in midfield we rarely lose. McFadz a close third. Without him we would not be where we are either.

They have all done pretty thankless tasks all season. Hamer carrying the midfield almost single handed at times and Gyo having to create chances out of nothing, McF guiding inexperienced centre backs through games in Hyam's absence. When any of them haven't been on form or indeed on the pitch, we've struggled.
