From the 'Boro forum.

They've got flags lads, no point turning up on Wednesday.

Almost missed the point where a red version of the CBS with a couple thousand more capacity became the San Siro / Bernebau

And yet when we sung PUSB at Boro last week, I've never seen so many home fans gawping at the noise. The fans to the left of us were literally stunned.

So, how do we win?

I've spent a fair bit of time looking at content online and everyone pretty much has us losing or at best grinding out to pens. Nobody has us actually winning the game.
It's a knockout game, so you never know, maybe they will be nervous.

I give us a chance if we play like we did at their place and hit them early and then not make a schoolboy error for the corner again.

Things against us;

Their home form, only lost once at home under Carrick, against Burnley.
Best attack in the league.
Their squad depth and overall quality is better than ours.
Our lack of squad depth limits us.
Our record at the Riverside is poor.

Things for us;

We're undefeated in the last 8 or so away, last loss to wba in February.
We haven't lost to them this season.
IF they attack us at home to win the game, this will suit our playstyle.
Underdog mentality often suits us(I'm clutching a bit here)

Anything I've missed?

Well, that's what I don't get about their overconfidence, we were clearly the better team against them up there until the daft error of not tracking at the corner.

We could have easily gone on to win that game.

We can definitely do it

It was a nothing game to them though. This will be entirely different.
And given that and they're home record, they've every right to be confident.
I still think we can do it but it's a big ask.

You realise if we do this the NE will become a centre of unpleasantness for Coventry 😀 just Newcastle then to piss off spectacularly

A lot of people are acting like we're going into the 2nd leg 4-0 down. We're level against a team who haven't beaten us all season

Yes its going to be a huge task but its absolutely a winnable game

I think Robins will change formation and tactics. Boro will want to use home advantage to go more on the attack than they did at the weekend.

A huge gamble bringing in anybody who isn't match sharp at this stage. Sheaf more so as he's prone to the odd howler anyway. Having said that he might have to - a lot is lying on the fitness reports I think.

If it came to extra time with most on the pitch having played a full 90, you could probably bring them on.

so much negativity overall
the nerves have gone from our side, and will be all on them
So long as we dont concede in the 1st 15 minutes (and thats a big if) we will win this

Are we all of a sudden going to go from a team that barely loses, barely concedes to a team that in the bigges game of the career for most of them going to become a team who forget how to play

Robins and Viveash will have a perfect plan - bump this again on Thursday morning

Middlesbrough podcast discussing how well their back 4 played. Someone should tell the idiots they play with a back 5!

They don’t include the keeper in their definition.

Oddly they’ve just said we didn’t have a shot on target but I was told by someone on here that we did? I’m excited for them to discuss Forss playing right wing back for the first time too

Pressure is on them, feels like it’s a free hit for us. Felt more nervous our last three games. I’m sure that will change tomorrow though.
