We'll invite more pressure by having only one striker. Two has been the tried and tested method for a while, and even though Godden hasn't been playing well, we're unbeaten in ages. I know it is an extremely unpopular opinion but I don't like the line up like this, especially as Sheaf hasn't played in ages, and statistically we've been doing better without him which sits in my superstitions.

Probably just the nerves, I know... Overthinking and bedwetting this to the extreme. Hopefully these tactics will work.

Think oggy said the other day that we win a higher % of games with 1 striker

Think it's also because Walker is out and we want the option of bringing Godden on (potentially with an eye on pens). He's worked very hard and probably wouldn't last 120 mins.

With Allen in for Godden it makes our midfield more mobile and with Hamer possibly playing higher there should be good support for Gyo. Going to be nervy and tough but confident we will give ‘Boro who will be just as nervy plenty of problems.

Not sure, but looking at when Godden has played: 22 starts - 7 wins, 11 draws, 4 losses. Omens are pretty good with him in.

I just feel nervous because they are going to come at us and we are going to be even more defensive now. That feels like a lot of pressure to take.

Got to believe we can increase our possession with that shape.

Yeah Eccles' Omens are amazing too, but they don't take into account the utter knackeredness of the Play-offs.

Last couple of games the Boro defence have been use to the likes of Godden and not seen him as a threat. Now with Allen and Hamer bombing it around it’s going to pull their defenders all over the place.

We invited it anyway on Sunday and the two up front got isolated.

How do you work that out? we couldn't get the ball into midfield last game, now we have a extra man in there, if anything we will be able to stop the pressure earlier

hopefully, and having allens energy might make more room for vik

I think the 4 in midfield suits the game.

Allen puts a shift in pressing from AM and might get us some more control of the centre of the park- which we lacked for long periods of the game on Sunday.

Happy with the line up, I think the two changes are one which most people have been hoping for. Clogging the midfield and giving Gyro more support with an AM on the field should work in our advantage.

Stupidly hopeful 1-3 Gyro, Hamer, Allen.

An extra body in midfield should help us cope and stop us getting over run. Especially early doors.
I doubt Sheaf will last 90 minutes, so I expect to see Eccles at some stage.
And if we need a goal Godden will come on and his fresh legs against a tired defence could be useful.
