Doubt they would qualify even for the promotion bonus, mc nally only played one game and twine maybe half a dozen.

It will be in all player contracts negotiated at the point the contract was signed

Oh ! I'm glad you know so much about other teams players contracts I'll consider myself corrected .
Pretty standard stuff tbf. I have a mate who moved clubs as a pro and had every bonus written into his contract you could shake a stick at (regardless of if he played or not ) though I'm not sure how the loaned players scheme would work out. Surely McNally would fall into our bonus system.

McNally + Twine plus ~£10 million is a poor deal for us. We just need the cash ffs, how hard is this for people to understand?

It's like getting a gift card at Christmas. Pointless. Just give cash so you can spend it on anything

TBF if we do end up doing some sort of exchange we can fiddle it a bit so Brighton get less of a cut.

You do realise it is possible to understand something but not agree with it?

It’s just something someone suggested on here which has been picked up by the press as far as I can tell. I don’t think it’s a genuine rumour as such.

The big issue with that deal is that:
1. The scheduling of fee payments. If it's over 5 years that is £2m now.
2. The players coming as a part exchange will cost the club the increased wages from day 1, plus any signing on fees to agents, etc.
Hence the club will be on the wrong end of front end costs, which will restrict any other recruitment fees for other players we may want.

Wouldn't be the worst deal . We need bodies ,and both are decent signings plus it puts some money in the coffers
Literally no-one has suggested we should give up 2 or £3 million of our transfer budget on another AM this window, but as soon as Burnley show up with a fistful of Disney dollars and the chance to sign a player who people have half-heard of, we start losing our shit.

McNally I can half understand, but to talk about throwing Twine in is just silly - if we need him that much (and we don’t) just get someone to give us a boatload of cash for Gyokeres.

Really surprising. The bottom half of that league is like non-league here. The players might be a bit better but the stadiums and attendances are so poor.

Surely if a PL side were interested, he wouldn’t go.
Sporting are a great club though and would probably get to play European football.

Interesting idea
Mutually beneficial, neither player is likely going to breakout as a Prem starter anytime soon. Burnley get the man they want and retain a couple of young talented players. They can use them next year if they get relegated or cash in if not

Like a lot of posters here think this needs to be done this week so it puts focus on a replacement ,we are not going to get a like for like replacement.
How much do we think robins will get to reinvest from Viks fee.
Me think he will get 50% of the fee.

Probably 35-40%.

Would love twine to be part of the deal but just can’t see him dropping to the championship, he’ll be wanting to prove himself in the premier league for sure.

McNally would definitely come I think if offered.
Twine would be an amazing signing but unfortunately I have to agree with you about him not wanting to come here.

And both will likely stay in the championship at better teams than us
We were play off finalists, if we can show just a little bit of ambition by tying Hamer down to a deal and making some signings I think we are an attractive club to join outside of the relegated teams and a couple of other clubs in the division.

None of this is happening anyway but if his value really was £20m and you actually managed to get them on loan for the season wages paid if playing and receive say £15m I would look at that as an option. McNally can clearly play at this level and Twine has been highly rated for a while. So you have 2 established loans as opposed to young unknowns and money to build a squad.

We need 5 experienced good loan players this season which we really lacked last.

Its not happening but I would take that sort of deal

Fee of £15m would be a disaster.
...or the highest fee we've ever received, while in the EFL rather than the EPL, for a player with a year left on his contract.

Don't let facts get in the way of you having a hissy fit, though. Crack on!
