We've been rejected for Aberdeen though
In itself not an issue though. Same as people are saying Gyokeres wants to be the main man, maybe Clarkson didn't fancy being backup to Sheaf, Eccles, and Allen?

Sure, if everybody rejects us for Aberdeen we need to get worried!

The corporate pricing is really worrying actually - his approach wouldn’t have given him a pass in a gcse for dummies in how to price

King has a very small business - ironically his margins are tiny as well due I assume to the competitive nature

He’s going to need millions a year to stand still which he doesn’t have so I would assume hedge fund loans will appear

Ironically - and I know I’m going to get pelters for this - he’d have been better keeping fisher for a few months as a sounding board on a consulting basis to smooth transition

The “I know a secret and I’m not telling” is the annoying thing and trying to get you to join the dots but king is not done red hot businessman and unless the hedge fund is loaning money we will have very little operating room

I am not going to argue with any of those points Grendel. I was never expecting miracles. I think it was obvious his pockets were limited right from the start. Hedge funds seem to becoming more and more prevalent in football along with interest from America.

I renewed our season tickets by the way. Initially I said no because of the expected price rise plus the unexpected one with alterations to concessions going from 60 to 65. I changed my mind because the seats are so good. I also changed how I looked at it. I added what I paid last year to this year's price and divided the cost by games over two seasons - it is still good value. Plus I have the money and life is short.

He chose to stay at the club he was on loan at last season, where he had the best year of his career. Admitted in Athletic interview that he was offered more money by "other clubs" but rejected it because he likes it at Aberdeen.

Agreed, and yes we do need to allow time, i just feel that those who are just shouting 'Bullshit' or calling him a liar etc need to just wind it in a bit.

This isn't just coming from Gimoc, myself, yourself, a couple of other posters on here are all being told the same, (mines from someone within the club) and that doesn't come about if all is ok does it?

For me it seems the crux of it is pretty simple. He needs to learn you cannot run a football club the same as a fucking oilseed company, let people get on with what they are experienced at, he should just deal with the Chief exec stuff, and listen to those who are trying to guide him more towards what should be done

For me it is not that I don't believe there is some truth in what GIMOC is saying - it is more to do with the way he is putting it across.

Every new business owner is the same, and it smacks of owner bubble arrogance to me, but equally sometimes you’re Steve Jobs and being a prick works out really well.

so what goes on at the club doesn’t matter on fans forum?

oh I get it. You only want to hear the good things. Anything that sounds bad it’s not allowed to be posted. fuck me. That’s what you called bury your head in the sand.
Nothing bad has been posted, maybe you should get your head out of the sand and tell us what sounds bad. And don’t give me the no kit, no sponsor nonsense. That’s not a reason for the club to be in the shit

Feel a bit sorry for GIMOC tbh.

Maybe a bit here and there but there's no coincidence that numerous people are hearing the same thing. Chinses whispers? Potentially. But there's no smoke without fire is there?

By all accounts King has come in and tried to run a football club like he does his oil business. That wont work, and isn't working. Yes Boddy and Tynan etc may be shit at their job, but they have a lot more of an idea on how to run a commercial side, a footballing side etc of the business than a bloke who never attended a game of football until Swansea in December.

King is a successful businessman, maybe his strong arm tactics and my way or the highway manner works in his specialised field. It doesn't work at a football club, especially one of our size. You cant just rock up out of nowhere, whack prices up for literally everything 200% plus, not listening to those with more experience and not expect backlash. T not have a shirt sponsor in play by July for a championship club who narrowly missed out on the prem is a farce lets be honest.

To think large corporations such as JLR, Peugeot whatever would think 'yea il spend 25k on a box for championship football at a club i have no attachment too' would happen is short sighted.

Frasers really aren't impressed by him by all accounts

To tell fans to 'join the journey' and we have in record numbers at higher prices, the play off couple of million, then not proceed to stick your hand in your pocket for even 1 signing before they return for pre season fitness testing tomorrow isn't great is it?

I've heard the exact same as what's been said on here, and it really isn't rosey behind the scenes as Doug just wants to micromanage the lot, whilst thinking he can charge loads for things that a championship club just cannot get away with.

Lets hope Hamer signs and Vik fucks off asap so we can actually have a squad of players to take to Portugal

Of course you feel sorry for him, its just the sort of doom mongering you fall over yourself to get involved with.
Like I said, from what I've heard there's very good reason why he's having to micromanage.

The jury is still out on him for me but people are falling over themselves to believe unsubstantiated rumours, focusing on substantiated negatives and totally ignoring the positives, there's no balance.
And I would be astonished if this close season comes even close to being anywhere near as bad as last close season which people seem to be forgetting. That was a real shitshow and the sooner the last of the protaganists involved are shown the door the better as far as I'm concerned.

Funniest thing on here is people change goal posts to suit agendas

When kick announced box prices everyone said how great it was.

now hardly anyone has taken up the boxes and he’s in frantic negotiations with people, people are now saying he might be wrong but least he’s doing something about it.
Of course you feel sorry for him, its just the sort of doom mongering you fall over yourself to get involved with.

Believe it or not I want king to succeed because If succeeds the club will and that’s what we all want but doesn’t mean he’s immune to criticism especially when it could cause unrest.

you keep bashing the issues now compared to last season. Why?

that’s in the past. after reaching the playoff final the club including king should have hit the ground running using the feel good factor to sign players, showing intent and releasing a new kit etc.. instead we have one new player, no kit, no sponsor, unrest and fans divided again.

pretty much this, people would be shocked at how badly the club was run before

King made it clear to fisher he wasn’t wanted so he left and got on with the rest of his life.
I absolutely agree no pelters from me

Fans are divided because posters who say they are in the know, repeat unfounded gossip on the forum to get likes and that then snowballs. The bloke is six months in to ownership of a business that's been a fucking basket case for the last 20 years, which he is trying to sort. You don't turn a ship round by being kind to disaffected employees who don't want to excel and insist on the status quo. The same goes for fans who complain about having it too good for too long with cheap boxes, if you want a club capable of challenging in the top six you cant do it by giving out cheap boxes and complementary tickets, it worked for Wasps right? The club needed root and branch reform to make it capable of being in the top 6 and if that means we loose employees along the way its because they are not of the right calibre then so be it. What we need to do is all calm down and wait for next week when the real work starts. PUSB.

I can't talk for other people but I was very critical of him over the price increase on the boxes, not so much the increase but the way it was implemented. Same with the increase in the age for the senior citizen discount.

I keep going on about last close season because it was absolutely dreadful and one of the main protaganists is still here, still fucking up and yet I suspect, (I have no evidence), is the source of much of the rumours regarding unrest.

As for fans being divided, you're contributing to that with what you're posting. I have no problem with what you're posting even if I don't agree with it, but it's definitely divisive.
Butif you're hearing the stuff you are then this is the place to air it which you're quite entitled to do but it does have consequences.

What most people said about boxes was it was good they had gone up, he was entitled to make the change, but time would tell if it would be successful. And that was mainly counter to severe doom mongering.

so it’s alright when posters on here slag off players. Staff boddy etc… but soon as I slate king I’m the divisive one. pot kettle black springs to mind.

He hasn’t said it alright just that it can be divisive. When prayers are criticised plenty will disagree so it becomes divisive then.

Yes it is what they are for. That was literally the point he was making but saying that has consequences and that you then shouldn’t complain about those consequences.

I never said that.
You bought up fans being divided, but you've contributed to that, that's a fact.
The only way that wouldn't have happened is if everyone agreed with you, which wasn't going to happen.
And people are entitled to slag off whoever they want, but those posts have consequences as well.
Though building a narrative that the clubs is divided and Robins is pissed off is a bit more contentious than saying Jamie Allen shouldnt be starting.
