Oh, and the Simms deal is definitely done. I dreamt I was at Ryton and helping COH with his rehabilitation and I asked about Simms and if it was true. Callum smiled and said 'I can't say a thing mate'.
But then I saw Simms walking out onto the training pitch.
It's happening lads.
Was at Warwick Arts if it was the same one.I went to that show Think it was the same one where he ended it by saying he was raising money for abused children….to buy their silence
Getting a top quality right wingback in is probably the most important piece of the puzzle now. Creative attacking wingbacks that are genuinely comfortable in the final third will go a long way to easing the loss of the other aspects of Gyokeres game. I know people will look more at our centre back situation but for me the wingbacks will be key to returning to a better possession based game, especially if we are looking to play 2 strikers, not the box, and therefore lighter in the middle of the park.In Robins I trust….but this guy Simms has a lot to live up to. Not sure what he’s used to but playing for Coventry in our usual set up he is going to have to work his arse off and be ultra fit like Vik.

Is the deal inconsistent with there being no money until Vik is sold?
Let’s get some of them in before we get too excited!Van Ewjik, Kitching, Latibeaudiere, McNally, Whittaker, Simms, Yates is a dream window.
Supplemented by 3 loans of quality and a Hamer contract and we have got a stronger squad than last year.

To be honest the expectation is warranted some what being our most expensive signing ever
It's remarkable really. Mark Robins and co have gone from wheeling and dealing free transfers in League 2 to now being in a position to buy at £8m, primarily through canniness in the marketplace and improving players. He's been slowly building an empire over the past few years.
Good point - 13.9m in these days for BellamyI mean not really, taking into account inflation since bellamy in 2000 the "highest transfer fee" label is kind of redundant in this case

It's probably because there is no football and things have been a little dull lately, but the fanbase is more bi-polar than it ever has been. You have people so anti-King that he'll be blamed for starting the Ukraine war, and others so pro-King that they are losing all rationale. Is the deal inconsistent with there being no money until Vik is sold?

No. As I said yesterday if Vik deal is agreed might just mean we can confirm deals we’ve been working on.Is the deal inconsistent with there being no money until Vik is sold?

The wing backs sitting back a lot was exactly the problem. A back 5 with 2 sitting midfielders. Fortunately we had Gyokeres unique attributes which meant when we were forced to go long and playing counter attacking football for most of 2nd half of the season, it was relatively successful. It was the problem in the first half of the play off final. A giant Christmas tree formation, easily nullified by the opposition packing midfield and preventing any easy passing outlet from the back to our own advanced midfield and forwards who were narrow and isolated.I'm not so sure. It depends who we're playing as often the wing backs sit back a lot. I think a creative number 10 to fill in for O'hare is vital - so we don't have to rely on Palmer. I do agree with the CB's though, I think that whoever comes in will quickly adapt playing along side Fadz, and the system works well.

And how many of us are supposed to be working…I think this demonstrates our level of desperation!
I never understood how they got tricked into buying a crock for that sort of money. Who did the medical, his brother?Good point - 13.9m in these days for Bellamy
Let’s be clear, your comment was meant to stir about the goings on at the club. We’re spending big cash to replace Vik. If your contact is genuine (which I doubt), and isn’t a shit stirrer, perhaps they’d have told you that we had a big signing lined up to replace him, rather than a ridiculous ‘no money until Vik goes, and execution chairman won’t foot it’.
There’s nuance in the truth, and I’m inclined to think that you’re on a downer about Doug and happy to run on the negative, or at least believe it.
You’ve separately claimed;
Bad negotiation when we turned down the reported lower offer from Sporting, and we’d fucked it and might run out of time and not get a replacement.

As it goes, just a few days later, we’ve got a reported higher fee and replaced him immediately with a top prospect for a considerable amount. [citation needed]
Taking out what happened in the end - had we stayed up Bellamy would have been worth the money. Once he’d got over that injury turns out he was a decent player.I never understood how they got tricked into buying a crock for that sort of money. Who did the medical, his brother?
Strachan wanted Hartson in that Autumn but couldn't get the deal done. We'd have stayed up without doubtTaking out what happened in the end - had we stayed up Bellamy would have been worth the money. Once he’d got over that injury turns out he was a decent player.
I remember Hartson coming to the casino post match and he told a story how he was told on relegation we’d keep him, Bellamy and Hadji and make Hartson captain. He went on holiday and when he came back- he was told all 3 of them were being sold
makes you think If Richardson had stuck to his guns - Bellamy, Hartson and Hadji would have got us promoted at first ask
Weren’t they haggling over a million for 3 months? I’m sure that was the sticking point - we eventually signed him in February when it was too lateStrachan wanted Hartson in that Autumn but couldn't get the deal done. We'd have stayed up without doubt
I don't know the detail but I remember it was an on-off saga. Didn't Richardson attack Hartson when he left?Weren’t they haggling over a million for 3 months? I’m sure that was the sticking point - we eventually signed him in February when it was too late
Sorry mate just had to clean your mums cum off my lips
Its a great start
But it's easy to throw 7 million at something when youve got 20 million coming in next week
A few more transfer fees thrown out and il be sucking dougs arse
Doesn’t really matter 2bh. We’ve just got 20m so we’re still plus 12m - is it a lot - yes, but I hope we pay it, means he’d have fired us to the premSunderland fans trying to console themselves by insisting the £8m is in instalments rather than clauses.
