Scott is 19, plays for the England U21, is a prominent member of a championship side, got 2 years left on his contract. The owner is a billionaire who doesn’t want to sell.

He has been heavily linked with Sheffield Wednesday and I would imagine a few more clubs on loan.

I'm expect he isn't included because he will head out to somebody in the next week or so.

That’s also a possibility yes but clubs usually want a look in pre season and the best ones don’t become available until squads are finalised

None of that changes any of the points made in my post. His performance history so far has been underwhelmimg stats wise. 1 goal in a Championship season is very poor particularly. The teams interested in him are those likely to be fighting relegation, and in need of players that can hit the ground running. £22m therefore seems very steep to be buying unproven potential, for those particular clubs.

Not every under 21 player has a successful PL career by the way!!

Correct, but his performances have been good - he was the young player of the season in the league. He’s not an attacking midfielder so he isn’t going to bang in goals.

Tottenham and Liverpool are both tracking him, hardly relegation clubs.

football has moved on in terms of transfers - 22m doesn’t get you much these days. Scott will go on to be a good player

Stats have their place but sometimes you just need eyes

Leeds have loaned 4 first teamsters out in the last week can’t imagine it’s looking great financially

Unlike Leicester they have few assets

This is exactly what we need from parachute payment clubs to have any hope of competing with them... for them to be wasting 12 million like that.

I'm reading that Stoke may be about to sign Rose, and that we turned down a bid from Stoke for 750k in January. Is there any truth in this? As 750k seems like a hell of a lot money to turn down, for a player who had less than 6 months left on their contact and played less than 90 mins since January.

Possibly down to timing, if McNally wasn’t in when the bid was made and Panzo was still not fully fit then, if an injury had occurred to Fadz/Doyle etc it would have been a youth player or someone playing out of position.

No point speculating, we will never find out if there was an offer or how much it was. We evidently wanted Rose to sign a new contract as well which he then didn't. You win some you lose some.
