Would you have Hyam over McNally ? I wouldn’t but I’d take both !
They're both good and roughly the same quality I would say. Both poor at distribution but good solid defenders. Hyam reads the game better but McNally is stronger. Would be ideal if we could sign both.

Mcnally is the better defender, and has lots of potential, but Hyam is a very good distributor (much better than McNally).

They'd be good in the same defence though

Rankin-costello without a doubt, always seems to score too

He's just signed a new long term contract! Suggest you take a look at his goal scoring record too :)

Cutting costs doesn't automatically mean a firesale, which is a conclusion many on here are jumping too. They've signed 3 players already this Summer, and a quick look at their message board shows they aren't even discussing this story. This site would be in melt down if there were a similar story about us!!

Hyam won’t come back. Club decided to flog him off to pay for a pitch. I think he’ll remember that.
Transfer fees are normally paid over time not been a year since he left my betting is Blackburn will still owe instalments so maybe a deal can be done if MR is interested that is.
I rate Wharton too.

Have to agree, imo the lad still only 19 has huge potential and not just at RWB, but I’d only have him back on a permanent deal.
Would love him on a permanent too but maybe a similar deal to Sheaf and O’Hare . Loan with a view to a permanent

Yep exactly, don't know why everyone thinks Hyam would come back, they will probably sell Adam Wharton to a prem side

I think this story has emerged because according to recent reports Blackburn owners have apparently ordered a 20% cut in their budget and vetoed a couple of signings they had in the pipe line and their manager has threatened to resign so there is a bit of 2+2 coming to 5 on here.

It's more a discussion of would we go for him if the chance arose

Wolves have a £22m bid for Alex Scott rejected, wtf is happening with these prices? Surely that’s totally ridiculous for a midfielder in a poor team

They would be better off signing somebody like Hamer who would go straight into their side now, they need an immediate fix not one in the future.

Scott has always looked promising when I've seen him, but I've not seen him dominate a game like Hamer has done in the Championship. A £22m fee for a player with potential seems very risky for the clubs reported to be interested in him, when his output hasn't yet got near to matching his promise. A record of 1 goal in 40+ games last season would have had us tearing our hair out.

I’d take BNC if he’s available for a reasonable price. He’s raw but I remember thinking the same about Gyokeres after his loan spell was made permanent. Think Robins, Viveash, Lawrence and co could make a real player out of BNC.

There's little chance that Norton-Cuffy comes on a permanent, Arsenal think an awful lot of him which would make him outside out what we could afford.

I do think there's a good chance we get him back on loan though and I hope that's the case.

I'd also love to be wrong on the permanent transfer.

Would have thought he’d have gone on their tour if they see him as a genuine future first teamer, they’ve taken quite a few young players

The in-thing now with Prem teams seems to be the buy-back clause. I guess it's a way of stopping squad bloat and FFP issues but without missing out on potential future talent. Something we could take advantage of maybe

Was just thinking this. Man City doing it a lot and I expect the rest of the top 6 to follow suit.

The likelihood of BNC reaching champions league & Arsenals level is incredibly slim. Surely they would sell with a decent sell-on % and a buy-back clause.

Win win for both if he reaches his potential. Doesn't matter too much if not.
