I can see us getting a crafty 2-1 win with mcgoldrick and bailey scoring!

I can see a win too. At last!

Hopefully Robbins' influence will have rubbed off on the players and we will be a more cohesive unit.

it's the midfield that really needs sorting out so I am expecting Moussa, Henderson and perhaps Bailey all to play.

2-1.

We will either play as good as we did against arsenal but convert the chances which in all fairness we will probably hammer Oldham or we play Mediocre and scrap a draw, hoping the first if so I predict 3-0 win City

Not a question of forgetting it. No-one has forgot it, but this is a new manager, a new regime, a fresh start.

No reason whatsoever to believe we can't win.

We hadn't changed our manager and I would be saying certain defeat, but we have changed our manager haven't we. He has brought in 4 players.

Fresh start, new attitude!!

Love the way that everyone just forgets our away record on a Saturday morning
Well no everyone knows about it, but we played well on Wednesday I don't see why we can't do the same today, I'd rather us all be a bit optimistic instead of like ' ugh were going to loose today' when I doubt that's the feeling anymore, well I don't feel like we will be a easy team to beat anymore example first half Wednesday arsenal didn't have a sniff at goal

I'm heading up there today and I'm always optomistic we are going to do well. I didn't go on Wednesday as I'm avoiding all cup games this year so I'm struggling to reach everyone elses heights of excitement after a 6-1 drubbing. I feel like I've stumbled into an episode of the twilight zone where the object of the game was to let in as many goals as possible and feel proud the players managed to keep their heads pointing forward rather than down and that we got to end of the sky blue song without it tapering off half way through. Yeah best night ever. Sorry I'm just bemused at what constitutes a successful Sky Blue event.

I do feel quietly confident.

If Robbins can't change our mentality then we might as well just throw in the towel and let the club crumble away to nothing.

Something has to give. We are due a win and it's league one against Oldham, not away in the Premier at Man Utd. Of course we can win.

It's all about belief and mentality for us now. Robbins changes that and instills confidence and belief and then we can have an at least reasonable campaign.

Agreed , another instance of how far we have dropped with losing 6-1 against a reserve team . Yes fed up of hearing how brilliant it was , was quite embarrassing really

Yeah exactly we lost 6-1 to a reserve team and ppl thought it was the best match ever.

This used to be a proud club.

We'll just lose. Might be outclassed or might flatter to deceive, might be unlucky with penalties and posts again, but we'll lose. Oldham might have the game of their lives or their goal might come scrappily in the 95th minute, but we'll lose.

I understand there's no point in being pessimistic, but it's how I feel.

I fear that they will be tired after Wednesday. Also the big time Charlies in the squad will probably struggle to motivate themselves for this small ground after playing at the Emirates. Worried that it will be a 2-0 defeat. There is a lot wrong with this squad and Robins needs more than a couple of matches to turn it round IMHO. Hope I am wrong.

Remember McGoldrick and Henderson couldn't play.

Hoping they may prove to be two of our best players this season. .Not expecting many goals from McGoldrick but do think he can provide for others.

If we play Bailey and Henderson in the midfield I am expecting better energy than Barton can provide and good passing too.

I see no reason why we can't get a win today.

We can't go into a game with a negative mentality! If we believe we can beat x y and z we can! I think today we will see a change in our approach and hopefully 3 points!

Thorns negativity through out his stay was crippling and that takes alot of fixing, and i don't just think Robins will fix it, i know he will fix it!

Otis is right in what he says and we as fans should start believing we can do this!

Speedie87 Robins has come in & said the confidence is low throughout the club & that means us fans too we need to start believing we can stop this rot & on Wednesday taking 8000 down to Arsenal is a great way forward in doing that, now the players have to start playing with the same passion as the fans have shown so today I go to Oldham believing we will win & we can kick start our season PUSB

A Brazilian international, 2 England internationals, a French international and Russia's captain...

The rest all being international youth players, it weren't their best, but it was certainly a decent team!

Whatever the score will be I think Oldham will score at least 1. New lease of life or not the defence is still worlds apart and as for 'Magic' Murphy...I'll stop there before this turns into an essay.

However I can see us pulling this one out of the bag.

Murphy is that bad when you forget about Westy...

However, the defence is miles apart, especially with Brown who is awful, then Wood who is good, but playing nowhere near how good we know he can be!

Perhaps it's just me then but after 35 years of going home and away, it depressed me on Wednesday to see our fans going to a ground just for a day out rather to try and win

Used to see small teams doing that and always made me glad I supported a decent team. Now we have become like them. Never gone to a match not thinking we could win but don't expect it anymore. Always worry's me is when people expect us to win away. When was the last time we won away when expected to? ( in the lge)

But in your 35 years of going home and away we have never been in the 3rd division. The chances of our winning on Wednesday were pretty slim indeed. Therefore people just wanted to make a day of it. See no problem with that.

People don't expect us to win because of where we now are and we are not the club we used to be. We've just got to get used to it.

We have no right to beat anyone and shouldn't expect to win any game in this league. We should be confident for sure, as we should be today, but there should be no expectation. We are not a big fish in a small pond, we are now just a small fish like everyone else.

I'm still confident we can win today. I see no reason to feel otherwise. Wednesday meant nothing. It was the cup against a team some 50 plus places above us.

Hoping for a win. I'll guess 2-1 win. Last minute goal from us :)

The best we can hope for today is that Robins ,returning to his hometown ,can get the rub of the green from the ref, the posts ,the opposition strikers missing crosses by inches ,win a dubious penalty, just as Greg Abbott did last weekend .That and our defence suddenly developing an understanding of their respective games and turning in a cohesive ,focused performance:whistle::whistle:

Nothing wrong with going for the day out, low expectations etc but all this best night ever stuff is a bit over the top for me. Its like it was all about having a big crowd sing along and the football wasn't really important and haven't they got comfy seats. There have been plenty of occassions when lower league sides have turned up at Prem league teams and have beaten them or drew or narrowly lost in a really good game. We were stuffed and it could have been 10 never mind 6.

This attitude of its okay they are better than us anyway has got to change we are still a big fish in this league so we need to start acting like it and believing it and we need a performance today and a win.

We aren't a big fish though. Don't think anyone is particularly better than us and we shouldn't be frightened of anyone, but I don't think by the same token that we should expect to be particularly better than anyone else either in this division.

We are a league one team. We have to get used to it. The only thing big fish about us theses days is our ground.

That's crap mate. We are paying our team 3 million more than Tranmeres. We have a home crowd that is top 6, a budget that is top 3. We are still a big fish in this league. Your attitude is small time, if even a qtr of those who went up the Arsenal came to away league games we would take up 50% of the average crowd. How can we be thinking so small and so accepting of where we are in the league.

With a small amount of luck one day soon we will be on our way back up ! Lets face it the gods havent realy smiled on us have they. As i see it weve lacked direction since Hoofroyds , kick it to Platt, plan was sussed by the rest of the championship . If Robbins is anything like i expect him to be , at least the players will know whats expected of them
3 - 1 to the sky blues
