Yes Hamer is far more important to the team. I could sort of accept us losing him if he wants to play in the Premier League but not if we have decided not to pay him what he is worth. As you said earlier we would really need to spend the whole fee at least if we want to be competitive next season. The only player I saw in the Championship last season better than Hamer was Diallo so it will leave a massive whole in our team. Not sure a couple of 2.5M players will do it.

have we really done enough to keep him? That’s the million dollar question we’ll struggle to really find out

No it doesn’t I totally agree but we paid peanuts for both and made them into great players , who’s to say our recruitment won’t be as good again with more to spend ?

Robins and Viveash get the best out of players generally. It seems as long as we sign progressively technically better players with a similar focus on attitude and personality well do OK.

Brentford sold Watkins and replaced him with Toney , just an example but there is opportunities to do the same

Depends how good our new recruitment team are..

Just aside we sold Vik and splashed out on Simms , for me that is a huge statement of intent . I’m sure there are players lined up if the worst happened and I’m confident that money will be spent accordingly

Yes but both Hamer and Gyokeres improved over time. New players bought at those sort of fees can't be expected to immediately perform at their levels of last season.

Yep.

Vik, Hamer, OHare and Sheaf were signed for a combined ~£3m

We're shopping at a different level now, and I'm not saying we're going to repeat that, but I'd be confident in Robins signing say, 3 or 4 really good players at £2-3m each.

You can't ask fans to join the journey, get recore season ticket sales (at an increased price), get record shirt sales, only to sell your two best players.

If money was tight I can understand it, but we've got £20m coming in from Vik. Even if you can't agree a new contract, that buffer allows you to gamble on keeping him for another year and him walking away on a free if we don't go up.
There’s no way King would let him leave on a free and it would be madness to even consider it.

Didn't Robins say a while back that people need to be realistic with their wage demands if that was directed towards gus then he probably has a replacement lined up and will have known gus is unlikely to stay

We’ll sign a replacement before Gus goes

Cautiously optimistic but waiting to see them actually play for us, especially Sakamoto who is a real unknown quantity.
He is but he was his clubs player of the season in the Belgian first division .

like I’ve said I don’t want to lose Gus but we have to be realistic, if the fee is good then we must sell . Then we also must reinvest well , it’s going to be an interesting few days
