And how many of those are currently in the boroughs that already have the ULEZ and where the ULEZ is popular?

For those who don't eat crayon, the Tory campaign painted the ULEZ as a tax on everyone when the majority of people won't actually be hit by it.

The majority of them will still not be impacted until it rolls out as car ownership is far higher in these zones

Again those who will be hit are traditional labour voters - something you seem very reluctant to acknowledge

4 out 5 Vehicles in outer London are meet ULEZ standards? These are the London Governments own figures. If you have a problem with the figures I suggest you take it up with them:

The ULEZ was expanded across all London boroughs on 29 August 2023.

So instead of it being a issue the hits everyone, it will effect 1 in 5 people and yes there should more done to help them but it is not a issue that will effect the majority of people unlike what the tory campaign said. Poor air quality and bad health because of it is in fact something that will effect everyone.

It's more a case of allowing a policy the party supports to to be painted as a charge that will cost everyone thousands a year when it is nothing of the sort

If anything from what the leadership has said they realise they need to offer more

Is it true that ULEZ was brought in by a Conservative mayor and the expansion to place was like Uxbridge was a condition put in place by the Conservative government before they would give funding to TfL?

That's something going round on twitter but surely can't be right. if it was true that would be a stunning failure on Labours part if they've ended up carrying the blame in the local election campaign

It was Johnson’s idea when mayor but implemented by khan

Johnson’s initial plan was just in the inner areas of London

It’s not like there’s no incentive to lower battery costs, it’s just a function of time really. Same as renewables were once upon a time. We just don’t have the luxury of waiting, so we gotta throw money at it. We wouldn’t have had to if people like Grendel hadn’t spent the last thirty year whining about minor and cheap changes we could have made that have everyone enough time to transition fairly.

How the car industry works is irrelevant, the change needs to be made. The excuses have run out.

Im not contrarian at all. It’s impossible to explain to you how global car companies operate and why governments could not change their planning - there’s no such thing as cheap changes

It’s also the poorer people that always get the brunt of such changes. Oddly now you’ve effectively become a Tory this is just irrelevant

To give it some context Sunak is on a -40 approval rating. His lowest ever following a recent drop of 6%. So in the big scheme of things it is going well relatively if you measure it against his only real rival. What isn’t going well is the population’s approval of politicians. UK politics is on its arse.

It feels like the next GE is headed towards an historically low turnout, which isn't usually great news for Labour.

In the midst of the biggest drop in the standard of living in generations the politicians just breed apathy, depressing as fuck.
