Off to North Macedonia in August.
Anybody been?
Not made it onto my list of destinations of choice. What are its redeeming features? Other than annoying the Greeks for using the name Macedonia, of course, which they believe belongs to them!

I have a couple of Greek friends and make sure I use it as much as possible around them, it sends them mad.

I have already been Abu Dhabi and Maldives, in Canada now so I will be looking at exploring the mountains and national parks here for the rest of the year, if the fires and smoke stop.

Not been but recently went to Albania which borders North Macedonia and it was excellent. Beautiful scenery, excellent food, fascinating history and not too touristy. Would be interested to know what you think of NM.

Both. Went to Tirana, Durres, Kruje, Berat, Gjirokaster, Saranda and Ksamil. Berat probably the best.

In less exotic news, I took the family down to Devon last week for a week away, staying just outside Exeter. Had a lodge with hot tub so the wife and I could go in once the kids were in bed. Lovely part of the world although disappointed by the beaches. Went to Exmouth beach which was only ok and then Dawlish Warren which had red sand and the water was red-dy-brown. Nothing on the beaches of the N.Irish North coast where we were back in April. The best beaches in the world and I'll fight anyone who says different! Benone, Portstewart Strand, Portush, Castlerock - beautiful!

Paignton Zoo was good, my little man loved it.

Wore my Cov top one day when I popped to the Tesco in Exeter to get some bits and someone said 'great club, unlucky at Wembley'. Yep.

Portugal was great. Red hot as they were at the start of this heatwave thats hitting Europe... My lad thought it was great too as they kept showing Vik's City goals as they were talking about his impending move.

Off to Cornwall with the in-laws next month... Hoping the weather picks up a bit!

Currently cruising around the Med. Been on 3 days and already chatted to a few city fans. My boys usually have city stuff on and lots of people have made nice comments to them. Even a couple of non city fans!....
Special mention to a couple of fans who I have spoken to today - drove to Southampton in two cars so dad and lad can carry own luggage off (leaving other family behind!) and make it back to go to Leicester on the 6th! - we dock at 7:30 am!!

Last few days in Bodrum, very nice and warm but like everywhere, Turkey more expensive than ever before but still great service and people.

Anyone reccomend any good places to go domestically with a one year old?

Flexible on dates so can just jump in car and drive down today for example

Appreciate any suggestions. Want to do Deven area etc but it's so damn expensive and everything seems far away from each other so don't really get how people do those types of holidays

Just come back from a week to the island of Ireland, 4 days in Dublin and 3 in Belfast. Really enjoyed both though it rained over half the time.

Will plan something similar but on the western side next time.

So, the wet side? 😉
Last time we went we stayed at Crookhaven for 16 nights. Saw one day of rain - so it can be done 😁

Don't discount North Yorkshire - Whitby, Scarborough, the Moors... plenty of variety for adult and child
